Parc Astérix: General Discussion

I'm going to Asterix in the summer for 1 day en route to Europa. Would you advise fast ass for a one off visit.

I went during the Euros thinking it might be quiet as France were playing. Turns out it was rammed and most people watched on their phones in the queues. They had to stop the dolphin show as people went nuts when France scored. One guy even watched it on the rapids, beat that TPWW :p anyway joking aside, to answer your question...

I got on pretty much everything except tonnerre de Zeus as it was Parc ferme. The only thing I would have done different is rapid pass Discobelix.

On my last visit I noticed that the SRQ had been removed from Oziris, so I would probably rapid pass that as well now.

Maybe skip goudurix if you value your time and cranium :D

Have fun :)

Going with the wife and two kids ,8 & 7 so SRQ is not really an option for us. Want to see the big show as well so rapid pass is probably a must.

That's a great point actually. I didn't see any shows other than the dolphin one and I didn't go into the character meets and children's area. If you have little ones and still want to do everything then rapid pass is probably for the best.

The shows are worth seeing (both the stunt shows especially); it does depend on when you go though, as Asterix does have a habit of either being HEAVING or dead with little in between...

I'm sure it can deal a little better these days with busy times than when it only had Zeus and Goudrix...

Visited the park today (full trip report due soon), fairly busy, waited an hour for a couple of coasters but the flats were mostly walk on. Pegasus was great fun, what 13 should have been. Our party of 5 all got unacceptably wet™ on the rapids.

My thoughts on Parc Asterix after visiting for the day

- The Woody is terrible, rough imo
- Goudrix was also a little rough.
- Pegasus is a really good ride with a launch, lift hill and backwards section, great family ride.
- The log flume was excellent and got Really wet on it.
- Oziris was excellent.
- The stunt show was outstanding and what a set, really enjoyed it.
- Merch was well priced and decent.

They are building a new ride next to the woody and also appear to be clearing some land behind the Woody for another project.

Looks fantastic that to be fair. Wasn't expecting something of that scale for this park.

It's been a while since Oz'Iris so I am delighted this is coming to Astérix.

Will be nice to see the full POV; what we've got so far looks quite fun.

It looks like that ride will have a lot to like, but I doubt the 'anticipation stall' and halfpipe launches will feature on that list. Just keep up the crazy pace!

I've my doubts about that switch-track being anything but an unreliable mess, and the pacing will be a bit meh because of that whole section...

But still, should be at least further quality to Asterix, which is great...

This looks great, not as good as Walibi Belgium's coaster but great none the less. I do have concerns about that switch track, what with it being an Intamin. Also it is a shame that the pacing gets ruined, it seems to me like there might be some magnetic fins coming off the top hat element?

Anyway, here is a look at the fact sheet for the coaster:
