Queue Times Discussion 2024

‘Day after bank holiday syndrome’ only tends to apply if folks are off school and work the day after the bank holiday, so Easter, late May bank holiday and Aug. Tomorrow everyone is back at school and work, so it’s unlikely to have much of an uptick in numbers versus other Tuesdays off peak.

Backed up by the dynamic ticket pricing, Tues-Thurs this week £35 with Friday being £37.

Fairly low, i've done a monday visit, and 2 friday visits in the last few off peak weeks and got loads done on all visits. The Nemesis queue will be low, it was walk on in the afternoon on friday! biggest queues have consistently been galactica and the smiler with around half hour queues on my visits :)
I always found smiler’s queue times to be overestimated and galactica’s to be under. I went last May on an off peak day and most queues were under 10 minutes but galactica took over an hour! It was on a two train service but they’d send out a train maybe once every 5-7 minutes it was ridiculous

I assumed it was running one train until we actually got to the station and realised there were 2

Really want to go back up but I never know which "syndrome" the park is suffering from these days. If 30-60 min queues and "a few walk-ons" are considered good on a midweek, then 10-16 is highly inappropriate, the park doesn't have enough attractions, or both!

I love the fact that now we are bored with queuetimes, we have started a fun game of how busy it is, not only when we are not there, but on days in advance when we aren't there, and not planning on going!
Is there any greater fun on the internet???

The smiler is a whopping queue time of ‘Opens at 10am’

Seems oddly quiet on park today for a Saturday. Even with 2 big coasters, sub Terra and Curse all closed, the longest wait for a big coaster is only 30 minutes.

There were thunder storms I think, that probably put some people off coming.

Here today and with some careful planning (I.e a 0915 arrival and starting in forbidden valley first) we’ve done 9 rides already, and now just enjoying a packed lunch on the benches at the front of the towers ruins people watching.

There’s a fair few school trips here now but appears to be primary schools mostly.

Starting early and staying late seems to be the way forward if ride count matters to you during this part of the season!

Great effort and was similar yesterday for me. In the Rita queue line by 9:15 and by 10:20 had already done Rita twice and Thirteen once. Managed 16 rides before leaving at 4:15 (Nemesis three times, Wicker Man, Thirteen, Curse, Rita all twice, and Smiler, Oblivion, Galactica, Mine Train and Spinball once).

Longest queue all day was 35 minutes on Spinball Whizzer - Sod’s Law would have it that as we joined the queue it started raining so only half filling trains, until the exact moment we got in the train when the sun came back out and switched back to full ops 😂

When every coaster is running Towers has good capacity, I think their ride staff are consistently some of the best around, but obviously when unreliability or maintenance issues occur the place can be a shambles.

Thinking of going on July 8th (a Monday)

How have weekday crowds/queue times been at the moment (many school trips?)

Would it be less busy to go say on a Sunday as opposed to a Monday?

We stayed over at splash landings last night, was going to do 2 days theme park with my son but just couldn't do it today. Yesterday wasn't to bad at all and got a fair few rides in. Today on the other hand was very different. We walked into the park at 10:15 and were out again by 11. The queues hit 60 minutes for almost every ride straight away and there was just kids everywhere. The atmosphere weirdly also felt different, then I heard a staff member say they were expecting a busy day with school trips... I made my mind up there and then and went to see of we could book the waterpark last minute. Never again will I book around these dates.

Has anyone used the app before? Is it useful for accurate live queue times? Looks like you can create a group ticket too which seems like a good idea for scanning for rides

yes and no.

It's pretty much accurate most of the time in 'real time', it definitely helps you plan your day

BUT

Depends how you use it. If you've just gotten off reborn in forbidden valley and you see that wicker has a 15 minute queue, by the time you walk there it'll be like 75 or something because of the distance it takes to walk there, and everyone using the app will flock over there

So I'd say it's good for:
- Planning your day
- Keeping updated with closures and re-openings
- Useful for nearby Attractions

Not so useful (not the parks fault)
- kinda redundant if you're on another side of the park and you're interested in queues elsewhere, i.e., you're in X Sector and want to go to forbidden valley

Usually the above doesn't matter during weekdays in term time but it's currently peak school trip season so even weekdays can be busier than sundays
