Quick Questions 2012

What part of Nemesis has been cut off?

How long until we get a shipping container for a station?

The themed tentical that ran out over the small turn between the station and lift hill

Absolutely shocking!
They'd better replace it or else I'm complaining.

I'm complaining about all of the other theming that's falling to pieces too!

Why is this happening?

It's old. Towers are lazy. It would be weird readding it when the park is open as it would take time and H&S would want the paint to dry before they can open the ride again. Too much faff for a popular ride. Just sit on the other side and you won't notice it like I did.

Didn't think it'd be worth cluttering the Scarefest topic with this, but does anyone know what rules there are for going in a costume?

I've been in a cloak and full-head latex pumpkin mask before and I had no problem with that, but I was wondering about going as something with a large, faux-sniper rifle (odd I know, but the costume may look epic :p ) and a gas mask... thing. I just need to know whether there's any point in making the costume that I'm planning, or going for something a little more toned down. :p

Well I know officially they have said in the past your face should be visible and not completely obstructed. However, they seem to overlook this on the day, normally just asking that you remove it while entering :p

I don't think they'd take too kindly to mock firearms though. Not on that scale anyway. Things like small pistols or similar you might be able to get away with, but a large sniper might be pushing it :p FAMILY RESORT!!!

Well I'm going for this...

(though it probably won't look like that) :p

The sniper is the problem, although a revolver would be possible. I just thought a sniper would be more obvious that it was fake. Might have to drop them an email with my idea/s. I guess I don't need either, it'd just add to the costume.

Thanks! :)

the the paranoia around the GP, i would be thinking seriously about carrying a anything that could be mistaken for a real firearm.

maybe you could make a futuristic weapon prop.

It would also be quite irritating having to carry around a huge sniper rifle all day, just as it would a scythe or something similarly large.

It'd be mounted to my back, so I wouldn't be fussed about carrying it. Perhaps a back up costume in the car might be a good idea too? :p

The sniper I wouldn't bother with. It could potentially cause you a lot of hassle with other guests and could get you in trouble with security and so on, only due to the fact people may view it as a real weapon - plus Alton is a family friendly park, replica firearms do not fit in with that. :p Something smaller could work, but something of that size I would imagine is a big no no.

The rest of the costume looks fine though. Only thing you'd have to do is just take your mask off walking through the turnstiles. As they will ask you not to wear masks around the park. Although once you're in the staff don't take much notice of masks.

How big is the combined area of Farmyard, Storybook land and Adventure land.

Also are any days in Scarefest associated with Gypsies?

I think the first Sunday of Scarefest is/was the unofficial gypsy day :)

Does anybody know if the Alton Towers buses run later during Scarefest please? In particular the route from Stoke station? Thanks

The bus I required last year to Nottingham did not run later, so I don't think any of the others will either. I had to get a taxi at £60 back

What are the odds on the Uttox bus running at night for Scarefest?

Assuming you mean the gypsy day? It was the very first Sunday last year, but I *think* it is whichever weekend that it is Uttoxeter races.

(If I'm looking at the right thing) that is on the 7th of October, but I would avoid the first weekend of Scarefest.

Why do Towers allow their park to run in such a terrible way as it has today? Beyond belief.
