Hi guys, looking at planning a trip to Thorpe Park and Alton Towers, having a day at each. Was thinking of the first week in June, from people's experience do you think they'll be busy? Slightly nervous of school trips. Its the only trip I'll get to go to either park this year so don't want to spend all day in queues! Many thanks :)
 
Yeah it will probably be busy, Beginning of June "might" not be mad busy but it's unlikely to be quiet

The Smiler coat was £50 the last time I checked, wouldn't be confident of it being the same price this year though.
 
It is £50 because it is made by a proper manufacturer.

It is a very good quality item of clothing.
 
Does anyone know if the entire group will get Early Ride Time if we visit with two merlin-pass holders and one buying tickets on the day?

As far as ai'm aware only the 2 people with the MAPs will get the ERT. Why are you buying tickets on the day? You can get 25% off IIRC when booking online, plus with online bookings you get ERT too.

Thanks, very helpful! I was planning on buying tickets on the day through teso clubcard which obviously wouls not be pre-ordering.

However, if I were to pay for my tickets through either the pass holder friends and family discount or with an NUS discount (both would involve pre-ordering over the phone), would this count as pre-purchased tickets and allow my guest early ride time?

Thanks for the help. Would just be a shame to split up the group or sacrifice an extra hour of ride time.
 
Ah Tesco vouchers, we always used to use those!

I am unsure about your above question though. Unless anyone else here can answer it for you, I would recommend contacting Towers on Twitter @altontowers or the Merlin Annual Pass team @MerlinapUK.

And yet some people still insist that "no one ever pays full price at a Merlin park because of all the offers". Here we have proof that a lot of guests just turn up on the day with little to no idea of how badly they are being ripped off.

A little insulting considering I was aware of options that would have in fact been cheaper than ordering online.

He did actually mention thet they were using Tesco vouchers on the day and not paying full price at all. Think it costs about £12pp in vouchers IIRC.

Just saying.

IIRC They figure only a small % of people pay full price, about 10% of guests I think.
 
So you're roughly 1.49m. So you can go on all the rides on park except those designed for children and refuse adults. I believe Justin's pie-o-matic is such an attraction, so I don't think they will let you in unless you are supervising a child.
 
You won't be allowed to film on any rides in the park apart from some things in CBeebies Land (Octonauts excluded... I tried, I failed), Rapids, Flume, and maybe some of the smaller flat rides. You certainly won't be allowed to on the coasters, in the dark rides or Ice Age, however Sharkbait and the live outdoor shows will be fine. :)
