On Sunday I had a welcoming time of 5:45 my mate had 7:30 we both turned up at 6:40 asked if we can go in and not a problem.
Hi
Have been lurking for a long time, becoming a bit of a rollercoaster geek!
We were booked to come to alton towers this week but unfortunately my daughter is really unwell and we have had to change dates. We are now going to stay in the CBeebies hotel on the 5th November.
I’ve not been to the fireworks before, can you give me any tips to make sure the day goes smoothly? Is it going to be totally mobbed??
Ticket wise, if I buy my ticket online does that get me into the fireworks? Can I leave the park at lunch time and come back later on?
For the fireworks themselves, would we see them if we were to stay beside the hotel or do we need to be right in the park?
Thank you! I’m slightly stressing, we’ve only ever been during the week when it’s nice and quiet!
That’s fantastic, thanks Rob.
I’ve been reading the fireworks 2017 thread and it hadn’t occurred to me just how busy it might be!
Instead of waiting for the monorail after fireworks is there a path we could walk to get us back to the CBeebies hotel? Daughter can go in a wee buggy so we could walk a fair distance without worrying about her!
This gate is currently within the SW8 construction site, so not sure if it will be available this year.Failing this there is usually an exit gate open in Mutiny Bay and from there you can walk back up to the hotels.
Oblivion in the dark is much better than in the day imo. Maybe do both? So, 30th of Oct, 1st ever ride on oblivion.. Should I have my 1st ride at day, or night?
What do you think would be better?
Quick question what wind speed causes a problem with the rides? Windy gusts of 18-19 mph predicted today will this stop rides ?

Is extraordinary golf floodlit or does it close at dusk during scarefest?
