Scarefest 2012

Yup Zombies is returning unless anything drastic has happened, Haunted Hollow Live wont return as its too wide an area to control unlike Zombies.

As for using 2 floors in the towers and H&S issues... you already have to descend a very steep and narrow flight of stairs on the current ToTT so it's nothing more than they have cleared in previous years. They always light the stairs well and never scare people on them.
I'm also having trouble seeing how the second maze will be accommodated within the towers to make it safe for the public but I will have to wait and see

we already have steps to deal within ToTT so i dont see why people are concerned by different levels.

I suspect the main ToTT will utilise most of the current area but with a different exit (perhaps the semi closed route near the normal entry point of towers).

Then the new ToTT to go upstairs - i see too options (assuming it will start at the current ToTT exit / old entry at the x-sector tunnel).

1 - you will be sent from the x-sector tunnel, alone until reaching the maze start, the unaccompanied long start would build alot of atmosphere.
2 - similar to Castle Dungeon @ Warwick, an 'escort' will meet you outside and take you upstairs before leaving you in the first scene.

Either way its all very possible.

Personally would like to see tott extended to accomadated where the 2nd was to be added making it a longer experience are as I think it's getting a bit repeative don't get me wrong it's good but would like to see something totally different

Blonde momment.. again.. how do we know theres going to be a 2nd maze in the Towers or is this just speculation?

If the Carnival of Screams isn't returning, it would be good to see some sort of 'Clownz' zone.
It always seems to work well.

It was apparently mentioned on some newly audio for the Skyride. Although I'm not quite sure how this will work out. Seems a little too tight for space when everything that is needed is considered.

Good source rumour and hinted at on monorail audio

And we believe Carnival of Screams is returning but Boiler House isn't

It's just been confirmed by the Alton Towers Twitter that ALL mazes will continue to be on park.

Surely we shall be getting some more information regarding Scarefest soon?

They did say "we can't confirm anything at the moment," didn't they?

Well that's disappointing! I really thought they would go back up to the hotels this year. I guess they will still have 3 mazes, and I suppose it also confirms that there will be 2 in the Towers as I really can't think of other places where they could possibly be apart from the goalstrikers unit.

:)

Would like to know if anybody can remember how big the ice show tent is I don't know If they might use that as a maze (only a thought)

As much as people hate the look of temporary marquees... what about placing one on the old site of Ug Swinger, strecthing back into the slightly cleared area between the trees? I don't know how much room is there but it could create an atmospheric area?

Personally I think that will work but don't known if it will be to busy around the thirteen queue line and whether they have the live queue line again

The ice tent would be big enough for a maze. However the tent is allegedly not suitable for any usage for people any more due to disrepair and also the idea of having one in an area primarily meant for children wouldnt be ideal.

The conference suite next to pinball could be used, it has been used for other temporary attractions in the past so it is certainly plausible and big enough.
Goal striker could be used.

Thats about it for existing usable space though.

Ah right that's far does finding it hard to see where possible locations are around the park tbh I never saw them putting the mazes in the black hole tent

The ice tent would be great, but could you imagine the big queue outside blocking all the farm area, and then people running out all scared. Doesnt really fit well. I think the conference place would be great, its fairly large in there and has loads of room near it for a queue line.

The hospitality tent would be great for a maze, especially Carnival. However I can imagine that it may well be used for corporate events during the Scarefest period like last year so Towers will probably want to avoid using it for a maze so that they don't lose out on potential revenue.

:)

I suppose they could move them to the Towers Street venues.

I am genuinely surprised to see nothing at the hotels again this year. So much for the resort. :(

As stated by the Tweet, the plan 'at the moment' is for them to stay on park, this could all change within the next few weeks, just like it did last year when the Carnival Of Screams was supposed to be in the Conference Suite. :)

It doesn't seem like they're 100% sure themselves at the moment.
