Im on park on Monday so will try get some photos for the TowersStreet Facebook page.

I wonder if Oblivion/X-Sector will be closed during Feb half term next year to keep it more secret and to help with building work?

I'm guessing they'll approach Feb 2013 half term just like they did Thirteen in 2010. Testing with claxons to announce when a train is going round. Thirteen was much further back away from the public compared to SW7, so it'll really get people anticipated for the opening the following month.

Not sure how much fencing they will have around the ride though as track will be constructed and I'm assuming the spider will be up also.

The klaxons will have been for health and safety reasons but simultaneously they will help to alert the public that something awesome is happening xD

I don't know, they could either not open Oblivion for the first time at half term or they could open it and use the area as a marketing opportunity, possibly with actors!

Will they want to keep the ride a secret particularly? In the past it's only been the rides unique point that has been kept a secret, and in this case that's still the situation. We know the layout from the plans, so even when we see it constructed there won't be any major surprises unless something on the outside track gives away whatever the worlds first is.

It will be very difficult to keep secret purely due to its location. They'll have to keep anything of note under wraps constantly to completely prevent the world's first from being revealed.

I'd assume that would be the station if it is a indoor area. It's been a while since I've seen the plans, but it'd make sense since it's so close to the actual ride. More queueing up stairs anyone?

Besides that, that ground is in dire need of water. Even the plans won't grow around it! I'm surprised Alton weren't using the tent as a greenhouse for 7 years.

Happy first moment of real progress everybody. I predicted this would happen in September, but as we've seen with TH13TEEN, they are taking the whole process (especially ground excavation) slowly.

Here are my assumptions of possible ride names based on what we already know about the ride.

- Pandemic (Outbreak of a major disease)
- Vector (A latin word meaning "Carrier")

It's worth a try especially if you get it correct you will feel like GOD

Can't believe those three BH supports are still there. They must be being left for some reason... I have no idea what though.

Perhaps, though you would have expected them to leave just one if that were the case. It just looks odd, 3 random supports sticking up behind a huge construction site on which groundwork has been in progress for a good 3 months now.

I think there must be something in that little building where the supports are, could be electrics, water, etc and could currently be used for things in X-Sector, so that might be why they havnt removed them yet.

Its hard to see from those photos but the hole is quite big, its hard to get a good photo of it, for the best view you just have to ride Oblivion!

They are starting to advertise the ride more around the park. They have put the little A4 signs which advertise SW7, along with the free wifi and the QR code to scan to join the mailing list all around the park in queue lines, I saw a few in Oblivion, TH13TEEN and Sonic yesterday.

Glad to see progress is coming along in one form or another now though. Hopefully concrete pouring isn't far away

Is it? I thought those things were closer to Oblivion? We can't possibly tell at this point in either case, once some track goes in later this year it might become clearer.
