Seems that tonight all of my friends are posting statuses about amazing their girlfriends/boyfriends are, or how lucky they are, or how much they love one another. I, on the other hand, as always, am alone, and left feeling wretched that I can feel jealous of my friend's happiness.
It's funny how opening up the world with social networking ends up isolating people!
I don't understand why people can't keep things like that to themselves. It doesn't affect anyone else, it isn't interesting to read, and it just ends up isolating friends. Even the ones who are happy for them, because the post is solely focussed on the 'happy couple' in their own personal bubble of happiness.
Yeah if you want to tell your friends you're seeing someone, or getting married, go ahead. But we don't need all the gory details xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx love u baby <3 <3
A guy I once worked with was reading the banal statuses on his facebook:
"'
Off to Southampton to see Lisa this weekend' - so what you mean is you're getting laid? No one wants to imagine that."
