If u think about it enterprise was a funfair ride but was retrofitted to look more permanent so they could easily fit spin jam onto the enterprise site with a custom made ride platform.
Except Submission and Ripsaw the park have always had funfair rides but painted them to fit into the theme. They could easily buy new funfair rides without the lighting package and theme them to fit the areas like Drayton Manor have.

No issues with this at all. Look at Toadstool (or the versions before it).

Remove the tacky arcade from Dark Forrest, put a Waltzer base into that building and run it in the dark, with wraiths hanging from the roof and some green spotlights. Even minimal theming can make a huge difference.

Hey guys, look, it's Black Revolvers' long lost cousin!!

On a more serious note though, I love that idea!

A waltzer doesn't need walkers to be good, they can make them excellent but a good and well run machine can still give a decent enough ride to make it worthwhile. Especially if its in the dark heightening the sensation.
Yeahh went on a new fair trade waltzer with my little brother I asked them not to spin it, so the bloke didn't and even stopped us when he went by.

But Jesus we were spinning like crazy came of very very dizzy, probably also because of weight distribution though and how fast they were running it, also had big hills.

With Duel and Sub-Terra reopening In 2023, Nemesis in 2024 and project Horizon for 2025 could we be seeing the retro squad staying around to at least the end of the 2025 season when hopefully the budget for the 2026 season will see 3 or 4 new flat rides installed around the park.

I always thought they should have brought back some of the flat rides that use to be at the park like a wave swinger, breakdancer and a top spin.
Well the swinger is probably now covered in weeds and brambles on site somewhere I am sure along with submission... back on topic I am definitely up for the squad again next year as let's face it tacky or not we need this capacity desperately

The problem is, when they are closed for days upon end because of technical issues, they're not helping with capacity at all. The only ride we definitely know for sure that is coming back next year is Duel's re-theme, so yes I agree the Retro Squad may be able to help with capacity again, that's if they're not closed more often than they're open. I know they are not designed to run constantly, but I don't think Spinjam has had any downtime really? Maybe the odd hour or so. Then Funk'n'Fly is on the other end of the spectrum, I've visited 4 times this year and it was closed for 3 of them (April, May and October - only being open for the September visit). If they're having these the RS return, perhaps rides like Spinjam which can handle constant running better.

It’s 70 minutes now, I can’t imagine waiting that long for Funk’n’Fly. Spinjam is also 60. Back onto the topic away from queue times but still relevant, it clearly proves people like them, and are willing to wait for them.

Or it shows there isn't enough ride capacity or shows....that people are desperate
