Not the wardley way? Please, tell me more about how nemesis and th13teen interact with non riders?
The only slightly interactive parts of nemesis are the helix ( surrounded by a 12ft fence) and the final inline...which you're no where near!
To be fair you can walk under just about all of Nemesis' track. You can get up close to the banked turn, you can stand on the bridge as it enters the barrel roll over the station, you can see it coming out of the tunnel from the pit and then stand on the bridge when it dives into the tunnel before the final inversion, which you can watch at eye level. Not to mention the seating area which gives a great view of the banked turn. Then in the queue you have the drop into the first inversion speeding towards you and then of course you can get very close to the vertical loop in the pit on several different levels before you enter the station.
With Oblivion there are viewing platforms around both the drop zone and the exit hole.
With Air you can almost touch riders coming up out of the tunnel on the lift hill, you can get up close to the bottom of the first drop and the backwards section plus there is the shop viewing platform where you can see the ride enter the first inversion and then come out of the tunnel.
Wardley was only partly involved with Th13teen and I would consider the design of the coaster section to be a failure anyway. But I think the idea is you don't see much before you ride. But this fails the target audience because families like to see a ride before they go on it.
I was excited that The Smiler would continue with the tradition of 'getting up close' when the plans outlined a plaza underneath the ride and a jetty along the entrance path. But none of this has materialized. By the looks of it there will be a nice viewing area by the shop of the knot element, but that seems to be it. I was most looking forward to standing underneath the marmaliser, but you will only be able to do that in a queue surrounded by fencing.
Don't forget the whole queue line is directly underneath the track
