Well it's time for my final SW7/The Smiler construction update! I hope you enjoy, I shall be ending this update with a selection of different overview shots from different areas of X-Sector.
To start, you can see that more footers have been painted black. They were painting more throughout the afternoon:
Yellow cameras have been added to the pre-vertical lift area:
What could be yellow chevrons in one of the fenced off ride areas:
More work on the queue line:
From another angle:
Here you can just about make out yellow strips in the bottom of the pit:
More 'theming details' around the pit, I doubt these will actually remain blue:
Some of the path dug up two days before opening:
A look at the hole:
And this is what was inside the hole:
Fencing down the steps is complete:
Welcome to The Smiler:
Magnetic fins have been added to the trims on the second airtime hill:
Here are the trims retracted, let's hope they stay like this:
Fins have not been added to the trims on the first airtime hill:
The return of outdoor seating:
More work on the Rehydrator:
The bottom of the site looks complete:
You can just about make out the inside of the shop here:
Another hole has been dug near to the shop:
A look at the station and shop:
SW7:
More yellow stickers/painting on a support, I'd imagine this may create another work/phrase when viewed from a certain angle in the queue like the SW7 lettering:
The reflector thingy for the sensor that sets of the first ORP:
It looks like a storage 'box' has been placed/built near to the queue line shop:
Work on the drainage in the queue area:
A look at the optical illusions on the seat backs of the trains:
The wiring of all the cameras on the entrance has been tidied up:
A close up of one of the cameras:
Another look at the entrance:
Some nice paving/gravel landscaping work in the transfer track area:
Yellow fire exit doors:
The first drop:
A nice look at the final inversion:
Now for some overview shots of The Smiler.

And an overview from Blivvy's merge point:
Finally, here are some photos to show how the ride looks set within X-Sector:
Ah there we have it. I hope that you have all enjoyed my updates over the past few months. It's been great to see the ride progress from a patch of land with a tent on it to what it is today. I'm still gutted that I'll be missing the opening day considering how much I have followed the construction.
As usual, all photos were taken from areas of the park fully accessible to the public. Please do not replicate my photos without permission. TowersStreet may use them if they wish.
