Re: [The Smiler] Construction Updates and Ride Speculation Part 2
It's time for another photo update! Great to see the track finally completed. Things are continuing to progress nicely. I hope you enjoy!
WARNING: EXTREMELY PICTURE HEAVY POST!!
What do we have here? Completed track at last:
A look at the pre-drop after the first lift hill:
The now completed structure over the toilets:
The first pre-drop and the second inverted drop:
The first inverted drop:
A look at the Marmaliser which has gained a leg since my last update:
A look at The Hypnotiser:
A look at the new thicker pipes that have been added to The Giggler:
This area looks like it is ready to be paved over now:
A look at the Marmaliser from the other side:
The Flahser, now without covers on the lights:
A look at the electrics behind The Flasher:
More pipes on The Inoculator:
Putting the final piece of catwalk into place:
A look at the first pre-drop and the second inverted drop from a different angle:
The first lift, which looks rather big from here:
Chain for the lift lift, I expect this will be put in tomorrow:
A geek shot of the chain in the vertical lift:
The first inverted drop:
And the second:
Here you can see that the combination of The Inoculator and The Hypnotiser will provide a really great head chopper:
A look at the painting on the station wall:
Most of the footers in the main ride area have now been filled in with concrete:
Electric work taking place on the Marmaliser, a lot of this was happening today:
More dark grey 'plastic' strips have been added to the station building:
Here is the reason for the scaffolding being erected around one part of the track. More 'track connector' was being welded into place:
Cladding of the shop has begun:
This could be the pathway leading from the ride into the shop:
The indoor section is almost completely sealed off now:
An overview of the station building:
The first lift:
Looking up towards the top of the lift:
And the top of the vertical lift, you can also see the chain here:
A look at the penultimate inversion from a slightly different angle:
An overview from the bottom of the site:
Here you can see the two lifts and the two inverted drops:
A closer look at the inverted drops:
Close up of the first inverted drop:
And a close up of the second inverted drop:
Overview from Blivvy's merge point:
Looks like the door on the side of the station building is being constructed:
The base of The Hypnotiser:
A look at the Marmaliser with the screens on:
Unfortunately the screens then started changing colours but still, a couple of different angles:
Here you can see the foot of The Flasher being built. I believe the foot of The Inoculator is complete but it is not possible to get a view of it:
I think these are pieces that will be used on other feet:
Some shots of The Smiler from different angles:
An overview from the top of the site:
Good news! The transfer track is able to move:
More fencing, possibly for the queue:
Here is an E-stop button on the lead up to the vertical lift:
And what look like they could be speakers on this brake run, there are several of these:
The inverted drops, you can't tell from photos but they are slightly different:
The Marmaliser from a different perspective:
And looking from higher up the site:
Piping that is still to go up:
A look at the painting on the maintenance shed:
It's going to be Mr Twirly:
Finally, although the track is complete I do have a few concerns. Firstly you can see that this support at the top of the first lift does not properly connect to the track:
This is the first inverted drop, you can see daylight between where the rails join up. It definitely shouldn't be like this:
Hopefully Gerstlauer are able to sort these problems before testing begins.
Anyway I hoped you liked the photos! As usual, all photos were taken from areas of the park fully accessible to the public. Please do not replicate my photos without permission. TowersStreet may use them if they wish.
