I did comment on Leek Signs photo of the original signs being spelt wrong and they said they just get the art work and make the signs
It wouldn't surprise me if Towers had seen this thread and then asked them to reprint the signs.
In other news the Smiler opened early today! Not sure when the queue line opened, but we got in it about 9.45 and the ride was going round with guests on at about 9.50!
However don't get your hopes up, the ride went down at least twice during the day with the queue line and ride having to be evacuated. It was only running four trains today, but when it got evacuated the 2nd time, all the trains were on the final breaks/station, so it can't have been to do with the vertical lift hill.
As far as i'm aware (we left park at about 4.45) the Smiler stayed closed till the end of the day

Just had an email from Alton Towers saying that The Smiler will be closed when we visit on Monday and Tuesday, and if I was going just to ride The Smiler they would change my booking free of charge.

Yes, this is true and confirmed via twitter. The Smiler will be closed next Monday and Tuesday only (at the minute) for planned maintenance. I have a feeling it is to do with the large amounts of rain forecast and the closing gap between now and Scarefest to resolve any other issues.

I can remember a certain member of staff (who I won't name, but we all know who I mean) assuring us at TT@10, that they had learnt from Sub Terra, and there would be no cockups with SW7.

Cant change my booking as the husband cant get a different time off work. Kids are gutted especially my 16 year old son. We will have to wait until next year now.ImUrNemeis said:

Well at least they are notifying people this time.
I'd imagine that they are planning to carry out more work in the indoor section. When riding yesterday I noticed that there was a fair amount of water down there. There were also sand bags that appeared to be around one of the supports.

Think they are just wanting to sort a few things before the busiest part of the season begins. Seems sensible to me.

Well, it would be sensible if it hadn't been closed without warning for damn near half the park's operational days since it opened. Phantasialand obviously know that it's more annoying for a ride to be plagued with issues that cause it to be randomly closed all the time than it is for that ride to not be open at all until it's at least moderately reliable.
