The Toilet Topic
I'm sure you'd have those gardens back in there originally glory in no time. Plus as we're talking toilets, you could fix up those abandoned bogs. They simply don't pay my current going rates my friend, or I would be in there like a shot...tent under King Ina's Rocks for the first few months to keep the living costs down.

Just merged this thread and related posts in here - please continue all exciting toilet and hand dryer discussion below. Thanks!I visited Towers in August and found every single toilet (except the one before you go through the gate) to be modern and with decorated doors, hand dryers with warm air and warm water which was all different to what was described? Does anyone know when these refurbs were completed, I know between 2016 and 2019 but does anyone know exactly when?
And LEGOLAND (with the exception of the hotel) had mostly old toilets with dirty blue flooring and blue walls, however on my later visits some started to be refurbished with new black tiles, coloured tiled flooring, automatic warm water taps, and a move back to Dyson hand dryers. Only 2 grotty blue-walled blocks remain.
I want to know what people think about the toilets at Merlin.
But on a side note I am fascinated by hand dryers and I know Merlin sites used to have World Dryer push button things, then Dyson Airblades, then WD Airforces, and then Initial blue and red light dryers.
However LEGOLAND has seen a move back to Dysons in refurbed blocks, and Thorpe or Chessington has had a new toilet design plus weird-shaped high speed dryers.
Anyone who knows anything about the 2013 - 20 history of Merlin toilets, or wants to leave a comment in general about Merlin toilets is welcome to and I look forward to everyone’s responses.

Such an exciting topic to be adding to...
The toilets - if you'll excuse the pun - are crap. Dirty, dank, outdated - they've always been that way, but I spotted something rather special on Sunday - perhaps a little gross so I've enclosed it in spoiler tags.
The flushing system is also really odd - it takes ages to refill and, if you're unlucky, you might get caught by it when it randomly goes off. Toilet paper is also weedly and thin.

Went to use one of the cubicles by the Dark Forest/Towers block - little bit of fecal matter on the seat, nice - but what was confusing was how the pan had clearly just been bleached... So obviously they'd attempted to clean this loo, but done the bare minimum and not even wiped the quite obvious splat on the seat.

Toilet undercarriage wash count from earlier this week:
2 of 3 loo stops
Hilarious moment in the Gloomy Wood toilets where a fellow patron had a surprise undercarriage wash and screamed loudly to her friends.
My 1 of 3 no undercarriage wash was due to having manual flush in Mutiny Bay. THANK THE HEAVENS.

I have posted occasionally over the last few days, just once or twice...regarding the hyperia/royal blackburn hospital megaclash vr experience.
Some may have noticed I have been a little bit pleased, to put it mildly, and I don't do mild generally.
Better than Christmas, completely restoring my faith in human nature, but the time has come to draw the matter to a scatalogical conclusion...a favourite of a few of us on here...to warn any of you who have not had them, about future general anaesthetics, and major painkillers...especially morphine.
They tend to bung you up.
Big style.
Concrete.
So lots of prunes and water with your last meal before fasting.
Lots of prunes and water after the surgery, and exercise to generate movement through the alimentary canal.
Peristalsis is your special friend at this time.
And now, take heed my friends.
If you have half a bag of cashew nuts with your last supper and prunes...
chew them up very well indeed.
Thank you all.
One of the best bank holiday weekends, ever, including '94.
And it isn't even new year yet!
All twelve days will be celebrated.
Oh, eleven thousand and counting...poop poop.

Probably it's just to good to vandaliseI’m surprised that a marker pen hasn’t been taken to that sign in all the time it has been up.

Also anyone notested that Phs are pushing the inco bins in male toilets (yes people have leak issues lol )(myself included) it's taken how long for them to realise all people have issues nor just females? I'm use to using the disabled toilets (tbf I'm still going to use them lots more room lol

Pm why (you will have your mind blown)^^

Because they love the 80s motorway services toilet VIBES.Talking of toilets, all of the ones at both Thorpe Park and Legoland have been recently refurbished and are generally very nice. Why on earth cannot Towers spend one closed season investing it theirs? It would make a huge different to the park.

They completly gutted and re-did the Mutiny Bay toilets in the last ten years, but I don't think many of the others have had significant work?

They're fine and do the job, but they're very basic and so many other theme parks have much nicer toilets these days. I'm not wanting Europa-Park or Phanasialand level themed toilets, but just some slightly more modern facilities would be welcome.
If Thorpe and Legoland can do it then so can Alton Towers.

What more modern features are needed? As long as the toilet works, has a seat and a door round it.but just some slightly more modern facilities would be welcome.
My main pet hate with most public toilets now is dryer provision, who thinks they need six sinks but only one dryer? Should always be one dryer for every sink, unless paper towels are provided.
