Thorpe Park: General Discussion

To be fair Thorpe Park is missing a coffee shop in the park, with there only currently being the little coffee stand in the Done. Since the Ghost Train shop expansion the other year the space is a absolutely massive so it'll be nice to use the space wisely and have half a coffee shop and half a merchandise shop which will both presumably have separate entrances.

Also let's not kid anyone that's definitely a Costa 😂

What’s now the Mexican food place opposite the pizza buffet used to be a coffee bar at one point. Think it was Caffè Nero for a bit, there was one at Chessington too.

Just gone on Google Street View and realised how much that bit has changed. Glad that Burger King doesn’t dominate as much now as it used to.

The cafe might be more appealing than the ride itself looking at it.

Surprise, it's not a real cafe! You'll order a flat white, the staff will take your details and then when the time comes to pick it up, a large demon will pop up from behind the counter and scream your name back at you. Thousands of experts have been involved in the design process, and I believe it represents the future for theme park coffee shops worldwide.

The design of the cafe certainly looks good, glad to see Merlin making more of an effort with the restaurants by making them more themed, certainly looks better than VIBES. It’s also definitely A costa as you can see the logo on the wall in the first picture.

The sooner they consult JW on how to improve DBGT (and TWODW), so that he can say "Bulldoze it and start again" the better...
Interestingly, Making Thorpe Park suggests that they actually tried to consult John Wardley on solving the initial issues with DBGT (prior to the 2017 refurb), but he was unable to help them…

Wasn't everything already virtually decided before they asked John, meaning that he could not do anything (according to Making Thorpe Park)? Such a shame though that he could not help in some way.

This was after the ride opened, but before the Rise of the Demon revamp, so any changes made by John would have been retrospective changes to respond to the ride’s initial teething problems rather than changes that were in the ride from the get go.
