Toverland: General Discussion

Seems to keep a very good pace throughout the ride, I imagine it'll be quite exciting start to finish. Am I right in thinking the spinning is all controlled?

Nope, the Toverland coaster is entirely free-spinning. EuroMir on the other hand, is entirely controlled. :)

Re: Toverland: 2012 MACK spinner, 2015: "megacoaster"

Isn't EuroMir the only fully controlled MACK spinning coaster? I've heard this as a theory to why they never really took off in the first place. It wasn't until free spinning became available that parks began to invest in them.

Re: Toverland: 2012 MACK spinner, 2015: "megacoaster"

Euro Mir is a very different system to modern spinners. It was pretty advanced for its time but it's a love or hate ride now!

Love the station! Reminds me of Storybook Land. :)

It's a real pity the colour scheme for the ride looks like it took inspiration from a key lime pie! 0_o

Re: Toverland: 2012 MACK spinner, 2015: "megacoaster"

Is it actually free spinning, it really does look rather controlled to me. All the cars do the exact same thing!!

Re: Toverland: 2012 MACK spinner, 2015: "megacoaster"

Whether it is controlled or not the spinning is so tame it just looks dull and pretty pointless. The only one I've ridden is Sidewinder at Knotts Berry Farm, and it really is quite crap.

OBAS is always a winner though. The world needs more of it.

Re: Toverland: 2012 MACK spinner, 2015: "megacoaster"

They look like great kiddie/family coasters though. And this latest Mack spinner has nice theming, offers a smooth ride, it's in attractive and bright colours (for youngsters at least :p ) and the thrill of spinning should make for a decent step up to the larger rides.

:)

Re: Toverland: 2012 MACK spinner, 2015: "megacoaster"

I imagine it's the case but I hope MACK have sorted out the roughness as I really have come to the conclusion I really don't like EuroMir because it's just rough and a bit dull.

Re: Toverland: 2012 MACK spinner, 2015: "megacoaster"

This is a completely different system to Euro Mir and appears silk smooth, just like Blue Fire.

Re: Toverland: 2012 MACK spinner, 2015: "megacoaster"

I absolutely ADORE EuroMir but the other MACK spinner I've been on, which looks very similar to this, Sierra Sidewinder, was incredibly crap like Pluk said.

This looks similar. Hardware and theming-wise, this seems a bit of a backwards step for Toverland. *yawn*

Re: Toverland: 2012 MACK spinner, 2015: "megacoaster"

It's the same layout as Le Twist at Le Pal. So it won't be like they haven't got what they ordered.

The theming is reasonable.

Re: Toverland: 2012 MACK spinner, 2015: "megacoaster"

The theming of the rest of the area isn't finished, as that opens next year (with Hafema Rapids and a few other bits)...

Probs will suit Toverland to a tee really, sommat between the Booster Bike/Troy and the Vekoma Skater... Just a question of whether Mack have improved the system since Sierra Sidewinder (another vote for it being turd)...

Re: Toverland: 2012 MACK spinner, 2015: "megacoaster"

They NEED to fit this onboard sound system on to Mir!

Re: Toverland: 2012 MACK spinner, 2015: "megacoaster"

2015! No longer a coaster, but the Neuschwanstein-esque TOVERLAND HOTEL! :D

Restaurant, banquet facilities and a spa.

If it looks like that concept art, it'll instantly become the most beautiful theme park hotel in the world. It's absolutely dreamy. Not just one big building, but all the different styles and turrets and elements and tunnels! I can't really describe how amazing that looks.

TBH I knew nothing about Toverland (or that it existed!) and thought why not click this topic.....And then that picture melted my face! Looks AMAZING :D That needs to be in existence somewhere in this world!

Of course this is very rough (I've seen similar looking buildings made using RCT3 that are higher quality models) but if they build something in that style It'll be amazing.

With this built, the huge buildings at Toverland will begin to look more and more out of place. Could they be potential candidates for demolition or a substantial rework...?

Wow if they build a hotel exactly like that concept then it will be simply stunning. Though not going to get my hopes up too much yet due to the amount of times concepts turn out to be so much better than the final product.

:)
