Towers Loving Care

With all the talk being on Nemesis (and possibly the rest of FV), the rest of the park has sort of fallen under the radar. Has there been any work on the other rides during this time? I think we'd all like to see Dark Forrest get the TLC I know, but personally I'd like to see Rita get painted in all green which I've always said from day one since Th13teen opened. And while they are at it...fix the launch system please!

what's wrong with Rita's launch system?

I'm hoping on Nemesis they opt for rust paint in places, which has small amounts of untreated metal in it which goes rusty, but is only paint so not structural.

On that twitter account they have a picture of the nemesis track as the cover photo and it seems to have been repainted?

Well they've already screwed that up, the track is NOT supposed to be rusty. The track is part of the monster, like it's tentacles. Only the supports should be rusty.

The track is supposed to be an off-white with cream and beige patches. I have a photo from 1994 which I will dig out asap.

Still pleased that it's receiving some work but Towers would never succeed in any kind of restoration industry lol.

I'm just glad at this point that at least they are trying and it's not been left all white. I wonder if they have done anything to the station to make it more like the inside of a creature and less like a neglected cattle shed. If anything, the retractable floor is a slip hazard it has been worn down so smooth.

You know what, even though we moan about the state it is in now, Nemesis has aged pretty well. The valley looks almost natural now in comparison. The reason why Nemesis is my all time favourite though, is because of it's theming. Not just the ride. The first time I saw it in the mid 90's was on the monorail looking down and I just thought, "Wow, WTF is that?". At that time it was still a vivid blood red and bright Ivory with blood running down into the valley. It simply had an absolutely awesome and menacing presence.

Here are some photos of Nemesis before it opened and during its opening year:

That's exactly how nemesis should look. (fake) rusty supports, but no rust on the track. Not a clean white track though. Blood red water over clean rocks (not covered in plants and moss like they currently are). Even clear water would look good now in comparison. The Nemesis creature needs painting at least. The station just needs... sorting out. The smoke machine needs fixing in the mushroom cloud tour bus.

So the track was actually grey to begin with , I personally think this red affect they are adding will look even better than the original.

Is it me, or does the fake looking rusty supports look better than the actual rusty supports?

Spot on young man! Saves me going on a photo hunt haha!

I love the detail they went for. I actually didn't realise until now that the rails are also a different colour from the box spine section.

I agree also that they should get all the weeds cleared out and give the whole place a good jetwash. That goes for the overgrown mess around the rest of the park too!

I quite like the new red tint. In my opinion it makes the track look more organic than it did before. Let's be honest they never quite got the concept right for the track being part of the creatures body, it always just looked like grubby steel, hence why everyone thought the track was pinning it down.
