After the fish and chips shop kitchen area burnt down and they replaced it with the coffee lounge, it was obvious that two coffee shops weren't needed in one area.

It's meant to give the effect of establishment and dominating style as you get closer to the top, but the true cheapness of the buildings (since everything's for show in a theme park, obviously) has been showing through for some time, so the effect is undone and it seems lame.

Needs repairs, but same could be said for a lot of the park at the moment, it's not the highest priority I suppose.

Problem is, like you say, it needs proper money spent on it, including undoing that abominable plastic cladding they did a few years back, fixing some effects and cleaning up the stonework.

By extension, it would be great if they refurbished and reopened Rehydrator as a themed mini-experience that ties The Smiler and Oblivion together. But alas...

Ive never experienced posts being deleted luckily but in the past I have seen discussion involving criticisms of Towers immediately told to stop and "anything further will be deleted" even if it was reasonable debate. Particularly happens in theme park Facebook pages and groups (not a thing I tend to look at but they have huge followings) that I know hide negative comments without the commenter even knowing.

Just to reiterate I'm not talking about Towers Street!

It's funny how political this 'Towers Loving Care' narrative is in some corners of the internet too, being used as a certification that "Merlin do care" because they "launched" TLC" (as if just caring had anything to do with it - it's more about money)

Been said plenty times before but work like this has always happened, every closed season, but now it's been given a logo. Should be taken with the same pinch of salt as everything else on social media -- Is everyone on Facebook really having the non stop time of their life? Is everyone on Linkedin really that "honoured" to be working for their company? All that stuff.. :)


By the way... just saw this cool little picture of Oblivion's area slick and new!
 
Oh yes, I was only talking about here. But then, I don't do farcebook, or have any reason to bother with other forums.

Wow, that looks incredible! Of course it would be almost impossibe to keep it looking so clean over a period of time and the inevitability of plants growing has an impact, but that photos is worlds away from what we do have today.

And how many bins please???

When was the last time we had a whole area redeveloped like this scale? Must be at least 15 years.

-EDIT- perhaps cbeebies land but very poorly done.

Well, we have had areas like Mutiny Bay and CCL since 1998. We've also had UG Land.

On a side note, I do like the themed bins in that aerial photo. Really shows exceptional attention to detail.
