I bet this new restaurant is going to look great. The whole Mammut/Sau/Karacho area is really starting to look like a proper area. :)

I did see some photos of the finished theming in the queue of Karacho last weekend but I am not sure where these are. All lookinv very nice though.

Crikey, it's not often that the mechanism of a flat ride is themed to such an extent. I'm surprised the TUV allowed that. Is it built in house?
 
The restaurant was open when I went a few weeks back, was good with a choice of draught beers (which I tried) and the food (which I didn't) looked good.
That flat was built too, but not yet open. It's small and looked like it was a little kids ride which would sedately spin, quit surprised to see it sideways!

What themeing was not there before? It looked complete to me and was all rather good.
 
When we went a few years back there was literally just the coaster and a concrete station.

It looks so much better now, and with the IMAscore soundtrack that just finished the ride off nicely.

It appears that Tripsdrill have announced plans for a new family coaster set to open in 2019:

Already for the past Parkerweiterung a development plan was necessary. This was launched in 2009. Unanimously, the Town Council Cleebronn has now approved the procedure for an installation decision for the development plan "Adventure Park Tripsdrill - 2nd construction section".

In order to remain competitive, a theme park should come up with a new attraction every three to four years, said Professor Waltraut Pustal from Pfullingen, who is setting the plan for the amusement park. According to her concept, the new large attraction - a triplet-style roller coaster with a height of 22 meters - could already be opened at the beginning of the season in 2019.Another ride with a height of up to 31 meters is planned for 2020. It would be as high as the "Mammutbahn".

Visitor flows are to be redirected

The new family-oriented leisure attractions are designed to redirect the flow of visitors within the park and are therefore set up in the east, so opposite of "Karacho" and "Mammoth". A 3.15 hectare area directly to the left of the main entrance is provided for this purpose.

On this area outside the fenced amusement park there are currently alternate parking spaces to relieve the adjacent central parking lot. The properties are already owned by the Fischer family.The new attractions are to fit harmoniously into the park landscape, planner Pustal announced.The new offers are connected to the inner road network and do not receive their own entrance.

The public transport concept is already being worked on

A further parking concept is planned according to Pustal. The transport concept is also being worked on, the planner said on request. "Already more buses are going to the main entrance than before, as all buses were only allowed to stop at Katharinenplaisir," said Mayor Thomas Vogl.

"Could you please reconsider whether a sidewalk from the Katharinenplaisir station to the main entrance can be realized? If school classes arrive, they walk along the busy street," said council member Ines Schwarz. "We have that on the screen," promised the planner.

Driveways get their own names

Since Tripsdrill is not easily found by navigation systems and some of the visitors are even directed to the administrative entrance of the park, the council unanimously decided to give the two entrances to the main entrances own names.

The section in front of the park is a county road and may not receive a name from the municipality.The access roads from the county road to the respective entrances, however, already. In the future, the road to the animal enclosures will be called "Wild Paradise Tripsdrill Road", the street next to their destination according to "Adventure Park Tripsdrill Road".

Has anyone visited Tripsdrill using public transport? I’m looking at potentially going next season and the website does display some options but I was wondering if anyone has ever done it and how easy (or not so easy) it is?

We drove as it was in the middle of nowhere.

We looked at trains/buses from Europa-Park as a 'day away' but it was looking a nightmare. May be OK from Stuttgart?
 
It is easy from Stuttgart. I can’t remember all the details because I visited back in 2012. I remember getting a tram to a train station at the city limits and heading outside to catch a bus which went directly there. Only downside was at the end of the day I either had to leave an hour before close or an hour and a half after (at least it was something like that).

I did not realise that nothing had been posted here yet about Tripsdrill's 2020 additions. In September there was a leak from a presentation which seemed to indicate that Tripsdrill would be getting one of Vekoma's new Suspended Thrill Coasters (STC):



Then over the weekend Tripsdrill have announced that they willl be getting an STC with a height of nearly 100ft and featuring 4 inversions as well as a Family Boomerang.



I'd imagine the coaster combo is what Tayto Park were planning on getting until they were denied permits.

These are going to be great additions for the park. I would expect the coasters to open without any substatial theming next year, with theming being completed for 2021.
 
Tripsdrill have posted concept art of both their new coasters, revealing the STC has no vest restraints as seen on the newer gen Vekomas. Admittedly the photoshopping is a bit dodgy...
