Walibi Holland: General Discussion

I did, but it's not accurate. Ah that's cool, thanks for clarifying. Why don't you turn captions on and set to auto-translate?
It's discussing why coasters run faster later in the day than earlier on.

What’s occurred tonight? Their tweet translates as the below. Lots of separate tweets complaining about a lack of social distancing.
“At the moment there are several malfunctions in Walibi Holland. Do you have a ticket to visit Halloween Fright Nights tonight? Then we would like to ask you to stay at home. We will contact you for appropriate compensation.”

They had a lot of rain, which caused some issues. One of which was people wanting to shelter, which would have made social distancing impossible with full numbers. It's possible the rain also caused other issues. What’s occurred tonight? Their tweet translates as the below. Lots of separate tweets complaining about a lack of social distancing.

Well I'll double post to update that the event has been pulled now, due to rising COVID cases and an inability to social distance.

Oh Walibi. I guess that's what happens when you force everyone out of the main queues and you have to occupy the pathways instead. I get the impression that Halloween is their busiest time of year anyway so that won't be helping.
Their Halloween event is supposed to be incredible isn't it? I have never done it but I'm sure I heard its one of if not the best event outside of North America.

Yes I did it last year and they really go all out.
Definitely more of an adult event, a lot of emphasis on drinking and lots of swearing from the actors even in the scarezones. Has more of a festival vibe than what we are used to over here.

El Condor is currently having some support work done to it ahead of the new trains arriving and being tested:

Sounds like it was badly overdue. I haven't ridden it but I know some people say it's almost as bad and rough as Hero which says it all.

I've got a horrible feeling that the new trains won't do all that much to the ride experience, after all, the track's not being changed at all is it, so the way it rides won't change particularly. I hope I'm wrong but I'm not optimistic. Send in those bulldozers, I say!

There will still be a rattle but assuming it's got the new vest restraints - it could actually be a decent coaster. Quite enjoyed T3 and Mayan.I've got a horrible feeling that the new trains won't do all that much to the ride experience, after all, the track's not being changed at all is it, so the way it rides won't change particularly. When seeing that photo, I was hoping your post was going to say; "El Condor is currently being removed as it has commited crimes against rollercoasters."

Should have just removed instead - A wise man once said. @Burbs has a point that putting new trains on El Condor might not fix the problem becuase i've heard the new trains are shaky and hurt men (u know where)! I honestly wouldn't upset if El Condor or any standard SLC fell over or was melted by the sun or potentially had a building dropped on itEl Condor is currently having some support work done to it ahead of the new trains arriving and being tested:

New restraints will help solve the ear bashing, but I found that was just one part of the problem with El Condor.
When I rode it there was a really nasty habit of knocking, shuffling and shunting around the track (a little like Vampire at Chessington does, but worse). This means your whole body is getting bashed from every side. My back in particular took several nasty bangs against the seat.
If I think about Space Mountain at Paris the new restraints there certainly make it a much more enjoyable ride, but you can still tell the ride is rattling a lot. You just don’t notice the pain as you haven’t got the restraint pressing against your head. However, it’s never shuffled and jolted in the same way Condor did. Plus, on an invert the rider’s centre of gravity is much further from the track I would suspect, so any small knock on the wheels will be drastically amplified once it’s travelled down the seat column and actually reaches you.
The trains can’t make it any worse, but I don’t expect a massive improvement.

The new restraints make a world of difference. Yes, the track is still shuffly regardless, but I would have genuinely given Mayan a re-ride had it not been reduced to one train ops at the end of the day. SLCs are actually quite fun when they're not trying to dislodge your brain.
I have faith that the new trains will do El Condor a sufficient world of favours to make it tolerable, and perhaps even enjoyable.

The park have confirmed it now. Opening March 2024.
They've arguably already got the best thrill coaster line up in Europe and this will only add to it.
