I hope the snow hasn't delayed the Oblivion re-paint, we don't want that opening late aswell...

Well when I was around the Resort last week on Thursday (17th January) it didn't look like they had started painting Blivvy, and the re-paint had been due to start that week. There were however a couple of people at the top of the drop doing some sort of work on the track, which was noisy and created a lot of smoke/steam. Preparation work I would imagine. They should have enough time to get the re-paint done though even with a slight delay.

:)

I had heard that prep work had started so its nice to hear that there have been people working on it, can't wait to see what it looks like when its done. :)

Those going to Beach Party should be able to grab a quick look I would imagine.

Im also confused as to where the shop etc is going? Is it basically underneath the knot?

Sounds like jet washing to me :)

They're probably basting off all the layers of grime and oil around the drop brake that would stop the paint from sticking. I'd be very inclined to suggest that they're giving it all a good go over with a steam cleaner :)

Fingers crossed they do a really thorough and good job of it, and so far it's sounding that way I'd say.

The shop is the curved part of the building.

It would appear to me then, that the glass floor in the shop theory might not have been just a rumour after all...

EDIT: oops, just realized, this off topic, sorry! *stares sheepishly at the ground*

Looking nice! Really rams home the difference in colour!

(though if I'm going to be really, really picky - doesn't it look like it needs a second coat?!)

It looks really nice, weird but nice. Can't remember seeing it not the dull grey :)

Image quality isn't good enough to assess the paint quality :)

Definitely makes a big difference though, i just hope this is a sign of more older rides getting this treatment.

All in good time, I think it's fairly standard procedure to do two coats so I'll wait before judging.

I'm just so glad to see this really is happening :-*

Well doesn't that look damn fantastic!! :D Oh days, it looks sooo good, can't wait to see it in the flesh, Blivy will look truly terrifying and intimidating once more! :D

My one question is though, where will the cut off point be, I mean I don't for one minute expect them to paint all the way through the tunnel! I mean, there isn't really much point in that, but I don't want them to leave a visible line from the tunnel entrance! :p

It'll probably be where it is on the picture! ;)

Just puts into perspective how much it has faded over the years.

Hopefully this paint will have a nice protective coating over it to ensure that it does not fade as quickly.
