Towers Loving Care

found this from 1989, would have been more impressed if TS was repainted back to this, that's proper loving care !

Now THAT is the way Towers Street should be. Ok the square planeters would probably look out of date these days but the whole feel of the place is much more open and clean looking.

Most importantly, look... JUST LOOK! At the windows!

What was I saying a few pages back... WINDOW DRESSING! The shops here look much more magical, and I love the little stalls too.

Sort your life out Towers. Just sort your life out!

I hope they haven't replaced the TVs with flat screens, that would just won't look right.
Like they did a few seasons ago in the Octagon that left a ominous glow when the room went pitch black.
The ominous glow gives extra atmosphere to it.
It really doesn't. It ruins the blackout effect.

In full agreement this looks absolute sh!t. This is why Towers sucks really, they just can't help but tamper and tinker with special effects that don't need to be tampered with. The old CRT's were fine, and you can still buy replacement parts for them so why the replacement?

The only modern screens that may be capable of achieving similar black levels are OLED. Anything with a back light is going to glow, why did no one realise this when they did the install??

That place looks like a world class theme park... an escape into a different world.
Please don't ever show me that picture again, as it can only lead to disappointment that I didn't see the place back then.

Its often mentioned that streetmosphere was removed from AT, but gardening has also been cut back to keeping things tidy.

I like the windows in that picture but the colour scheme is nothing special. They need to get the windows back even if it's just dressed.

As for Hex TV's I don't have a problem with flat screen TV's but they need to use whatever it is they use on Sub-Terra to power down the back-lights on the flat screens.

Hell just steal the hardware from sub-terra it's not like they will ever open it again.

Worry not, I hear Towers wish to take the Disney approach when it comes to windows on Towers Street. Here is the proposal for the first window at the top of the street:

COWARDLY CRAFTSMANSHIP
N. J. VARNEY - PROPRIETOR
"World Beating Cutting Skills"
;)

Please don't let them screw it up! Im praying for them to reconstruct it as per the 1994 plans. No faffing around like with the track repaint

I think it's pictures like this that prove that despite the crap going on in Merlin group there are people who give a crap working in the parks.

I doubt the TLC money came without a fight and this is something we have moaned about needing doing for a long time.

Exactly. This is why I don't knock the TLC program (unless I'm taking the piss). Yes, maintenance should be done annually, but it's still good to see evidence of it. Obviously, the whole thing only came around to provide a smokescreen for the larger, park wide cuts; but whoever is behind this project obviously does care about the park, and I also think a lot of it is for the benefit of us as enthusiasts. The fact that the TLC twitter page is barely mentioned or advertised on the main Towers Facebook/Twitter pages shows it's very much a side project to please the enthusiasts.

If this is done to the same standard as the parts of the station that were done last season then it will look stunning. Although I'd still rather them not just paint over all of the mould or whatever it is on the theming.

:)

I don't mind if I'm honest. Yes its a way too paper over the cracks. But at least there showing us that the cracks are at least being papered. Plus. The positive for me personally it shows that despite merlin. Deep in the bowls of the corporate monster, someone at least cares.
