I think 40 mins wait for nemisis on two trains sums it up

Yes, I was at the park again yesterday. Again, it was heaving.

Nemesis was down a couple of times but I managed to get to the front of the queue just as it reopened.

I've only got a total of 11 or 12 rides IN TOTAL on my 3 visits this year. It has been a lot busier. Not sure whether this is down to Wicker Man or the season pass deal or a combination of the two. I have to say it has got to the stage where I'm recommending BPB over AT to friends - unless you've got deep pockets and are willing to pay for fastrack.

We go the same August weekend every year and this year was clearly a lot busier than previous even with the season pass blackout dates. Wickerman is clearly pulling in the punters and I'm sure the good weather has helped too.

I've no issue with saving up for platinum fastracks and then hammering the park for 2 days solid. Expensive but it gets it out of our system until August the next year. We got a serious amount of rides done last weekend.

To be fair to Alton, they can't really help how busy the park is.

Still my personal favourite park!
But they can stop overselling fastrack, put more filler attractions in, offer fair and reasonable opening hours, and improve reliability and operations of rides.

Theres an interesting thread in Europa Street about a visit to Europa Park at maximum capacity by @AstroDan I believe. That's how you run a busy theme park.

Edit: here it is

It would also help if they ran the coaster at max capacity. Nemesis can easily run three or four trains but runs two for instance. And even then there are empty seats.

Shambles
I think Nemesis only has enough block sections to run 2 trains, but I'm probably wrong.

Meh.... I could have sworn it ran more. At least three. My bad.

Point still stands though - rides can’t be ran at max capacity

My wife and I went in June on a quiet day still only got 11 rides in. Something is clearly amiss

Edit so we yeh I’m wrong. Even wiki gets it right !

It's OK! But I'd personally say 11 rides is pretty good myself; the most I've ever gotten on at a theme park is 12 at BPB on 14th August!

:)

I dunno we have been in June before and been walk on. Depends I guess in the weather and whom goes.

Still doesn’t beat two days after thirteen opened. Walk in all day long - got ten rides in thirteen alone.

on Sunday we managed 10 rides and that was only 3 of the coasters. Can’t imagine how a paying on the day guest would’ve felt! Although we went at the start of the holidays and managed 27. I feel like it’s been pretty busy all season and we are yet to have a completely walk on day unlike last year. I personally think it’s the season pass but it’s still busy on blackout dates so maybe it is wickerman!
