Thorpe Park: General Discussion
It’s Merlin, reactive rather than proactive.......Putting bouncy castles with open fronts where adults will be bouncing around out of control on, on concrete.
What could possibly go wrong?
How do these things get passed off as safe?

To be fair it not open yet so I imaging some mats will be added around it.
However it really does show they Thorpe literally had no budget this season. They’ve added a games arena which I imagine is mainly paid for by the company bringing it it, an escape room which you pay to use and a bouncy castle which also has a sponsor which will be partially paid for by them.
So if they have a bad year then it’s only Merlin who can get the blame and not Thorpe.

Thorpe lost the plot years ago, let's be honest here.
Yea it's a dreadful place. The ride line up isn't even that bad either. They are just running it into the ground.
Six flags are doing the same in the States. So far behind the times and Cedar Fair are always ahead of the game.

To be honest I'm really looking forward to BounceZilla. It's something I've always wanted to do and it's another fun activity to do over the summer. I don't see what the problem is?

Nope!Am I alone in being excited to try this? It's not a B&M hyper but it was never planned to be nor has this replaced one in their roadmap, it's a filler attraction for sure and that's fine.

Thorpe is supposed to be a a high thrills park. Not a kids park when Chessington and Legoland are next door. Thorpe have no direction, no vision to guide where the park is going. No idea who it's aimed at and no long term plans.
Adding kids flat rides in old town, then making X horror themed and mid season horror events, then setting up video games and bouncy castles.
IMAScore created an audio identity that Thorpe entirely own, but they don't use it in their adverts.
Saw covered in excrement at the start of the season. I continue to be shocked and stunned by the clueless management of Thorpe which upsets me honestly.
I start to wish it was just sold to the Mack family or someone and they turned it into a world class thrill island with a clear vision and plans for what the park should be. There's a reason Europa wins the Golden Ticket award every year.

Operations were excellent across Thorpe today. Despite the park being quiet, the rides were all on full capacity with urgency being shown to get the trains moving. It really makes all the difference and I just hope they can keep it this good consistently.
Nemesis Inferno was the highlight, managed 10 rides in the last half an hour due to being able to stay on the same train (it was that quiet).
Samurai seemed very tame today, we didn't invert once and felt like it was running at about a quarter of the usual speed. Saw had lots of effects down, it was nice to see the smoke back on Stealth but they need to fix the green light!
Overall a really good day thanks to the fantastic operations.

Because nothing says Thrill capital like a bouncy castle does it?
What on earth are they playing at?
It’s so poor it actually would have been better to have nothing!
Better than nothing doesn’t even apply here.

After a painful day at a kid's party, all is redeemed when the kids are sent to bed and the adults get free rein on the bouncy castle. Despite the sketchy reputation in recent years, I do think they're fun when run properly. It’s so poor it actually would have been better to have nothing!

I read post after post, page after page on here about how there's nothing to do at Merlin parks other than ride coasters, when something else is offered, naturally it's the wrong something... people want another coaster so they can further complain that there's nothing to do at Merlin parks other than ride coasters.
Massive bouncy castle > fairground jets ride and you didn't swerve that?!

As it's above the track, i've come to the conclusion that it would be a health and safety nightmare to replace. Merlin are beyond cautious about health and safety now. They won't even dispatch the Flying fish with anyone or staff on the bridge, Imagine all the BS they would have to go through to install a platform over the track just to change a lightbulb.
