Well my neighbours well and truly have broken all rules now. This is the third group of people they have had in their garden with no distancing whatsoever. Child, two women and a man and earlier they had another child and another adult. Neighbour even went to greet one of the women outside near the road so everyone could see she came from a car and there was no distancing when they met. There are three households mixing now! Having a barbeque and having no cares apparently!

I don't understand what has changed and why they feel like they have a right to do this. She works in a nursery, we think she is either at work or getting ready to go back. But I'm sure parents wouldn't expect the people in that nursery to be mixing with so many people outside of work.
 
My bedroom has views of the garden that backs onto ours. I swear they’ve had several non-residents over in this past week, and I’m not certain they’ve been keeping 2m apart, either.
 
The way our house is designed is that we have our front door at the side of the house, as do the neighbours and we share a driveway. Upstairs the room above the front door is the toilet, so looking out the window is a perfect view of their back garden and anyone coming in the front door. I can see everyone right now (well a few minutes ago) passing beer and sitting right next to each other.

It's quite depressing really and I've tried to be positive in all of this, but I don't want lockdown to end if it means idiots like these think it's a free for all and they make it worse.

I genuinely can't see for the most of us there even being a "new normal", I'm not sure we'll even get that far before we're right back to square one.

Welcome to my neighbourhood, and there are all old folks around here, I do feel like Jess and I are the only ones here taking this seriously.

There are 8,000 new infections daily.
Only 7% of the population has had Covid-19.
50% of those that have shown symptoms have isolated for 7 days.
75% of those that do have Covid-19 do not show any symptoms and are infectious.
Hospital Covid-19 admissions are going up.
The scientist have warned that the R number is too high to relax the lock-down.
It has been indicated that the politicians are not following the science, but making political decisions.
This is far from over. Stay safe, keep your distance, avoid crowds and groups

Same with my neighbors, for the past 3 weeks they have been having different people around in their back garden, having BBQs and drinks every afternoon and evening. No distancing. And they are an elderly couple, one of which was a nurse.

Anyway, we went out for a picnic today up on Dartmoor. We had no problem finding a remote spot and didn't come across one other person all afternoon. However, driving through Dartmoor I was amazed how many people were around the main 'tourist' areas congregating with kids around streams and car parks, with the police booking car after car after car parked in double yellows on the narrow roads.

I mean come on, Dartmoor is huge, you can always find a spot away from literally anyone, bit no, people still go to the busiest places for their outdoor fix. Common sense is dead.
 
We've not had a proper lockdown in this country. This has allowed people to push the boundaries from the very start of the pretend lockdown and each time the Gov't relax the rules a bit more people just take even more liberties. It's why they won't make the speed limits 80mph on the motorways because they know as soon as they do that people will start doing 90 instead of the current 80 that they let them get away with.
 
The scenes today at Durdle Door were complete and utter madness. I’ve been many a time when I was younger at peak periods and never have I seen it as busy as it was today. Then you have idiots who decide it’s a good idea to jump off the cliffs, get seriously injured and need the air ambulance to land on the beach which obviously means an evacuation where social distancing is not possible or practical.

Looking back we went in to lockdown too late and it seems like we’ve come out too early. The full lockdown should have continued for another 2-3 weeks to help drive infection levels down further. It seems apparent that we have a much higher infection level at present than other European counties.

Maybe I’m just feeling pessimistic today but I am increasingly starting to think that we will be the first or one of the first counties in the world to have a second wave. And said second wave will likely be worse seeing as I cannot imagine another full lockdown happening for a whole host of reasons.
 
I very much doubt that Boris will deviate from his plan at all, no matter what the evidence says. If we are indeed back at an R-value of 0.9, we're getting close to ending up in stage 5 - and full lockdown - once again. Work today, with just one person on a till at petrol as opposed to two (this is the new operating procedure, with the second colleague on the door monitoring queues outside) was just as busy as a normal Saturday before lockdown. The alcohol aisle had been ransacked once again, with hardly any cider and very little tonic water available. For the record, I get that we're in a period of good weather, so people are wanting to spend time outside. I'm just concerned that people won't pay attention to guidelines and will meet in whatever size groups they see fit. The obsession with protecting the utterly slimy weaselly scumbag known as Dominic Cummings will be the reason behind a second spike, I can guarantee it.

Regarding quarantining of arrivals into the country...It's a good idea, and I'd support it if it had come in at the time of lockdown. I'm concerned that putting it in on June 8th is going to be too late to make any real difference, though it MAY make a difference if we have a second wave.

There's also something I didn't think of until Carole Cadwalladr mentioned it on Twitter, with some follow-up Tweets as well. Matt Hancock's constituency is West Suffolk, which includes Newmarket, known for its racecourse. It's also on record that he's allegedly received £100,000 in donations from people in the horse racing industry since the start of 2019. The Cheltenham Festival was not cancelled. Now, I'm not a conspiracy theorist by any stretch, but there's something that seems slightly suspicious about all that when you join the dots together.:tinfoil:
 
Think it was already pointed out that someone on the Cheltenham board was part of the test and trace mob. So it's not really a conspiracy but there in plain sight that certain government decisions are made purely because one MP has a relation involved in an associated company.
 
I have just been catching up with the daily update.
It all sounds like the scientists are worried about R. I wonder if it would be better to have county R values published with covid state, this would mean people will know where hotspots are.

Also they talked about football behind closed doors. I have read the briefing for medical cover for a club, it is very interesting reading. The level of IPC is very very high.

Why the hell are they opening outdoor markets tomorrow as well? Have you ever been to car-boot sales etc in nice weather? People literally pushing against each other in front of the stalls and brushing past each other all day long with no social distancing. Absolutely crazy to add that little nugget in there when there are still other less wreckless things outlawed. It's like they just scribble down the first ideas they come up with and add random dates and say "that'll do".

The government announces racing is back, from Monday, in Newcastle.
Already an open secret, this must have been a couple of weeks in planning, with close liason between business and government.
Now look at beaches.
Opened by the government, but no (charity funded) lifeguards yet in place.
Last week, the minister for the environment said he saw "no reason why lifeguards shouldnt return to work".
The next day he hid, his spokesperson said it was a matter for the Transport department.
Transport passed the buck to the Home Office the following day...no comment.
The next day the Home Office passed the buck to the Treasury.
The treasury as made no response to repeated requests for a statement.
The RNLI is skint, and has had zero direction from the government in regard to coronavirus.

No money in beaches.
Plenty of money in gambling.
The whole issue of reopening society stinks.

Directed by science?
Directed by money.
 
I still think in my honest opinion that the rest of the uk apart from England are doing lockdown better. Obviously not everyone would agree but in my eyes lockdown in England is very rushed just to meet deadlines and dates. Here in Wales we are still completely locked down but Monday we can meet someone from another household but only 5 miles away. End of the day if we have another big spike or wave it’s not surprising at the end of the day. Only time will tell if rushing lockdown to be over was a good idea or a bad idea.
 
It will be interesting to see how the spike happens for the different areas.
Will wales have a lower lift on the R value.

I feel england is doing too many things at once, how can you know what is causing a R value rise.

Also we have the DC affect. A neighbour has got her kids and grandkids down. When challenged by another neighbour she shouted "Well i'm just following Dominic Cummings"
