Thorpe Park: General Discussion

Nasty.

Sounds very possible to me that the weapon would have come directly from a car rather than been taken in through security earlier in the day as some sort of security failure.
Well I don't think admissions would question someone with a knife.

Do they still have metal detectors? I recall they had them years ago, but not sure if they still do? It’s just bags they check I think?

If it’s like previous days security is pretty much non existent towards end of day, at least at turnstiles / entrance. But it does make sense weapon in car and then people leaving park attack. possibly the injured made their way back into the park for safety.

Christ, someone’s been stabbed, possibly multiple people... hardly an appropriate time to bring up your insignificant scuffle with Thorpe Park security.

Not that bit I was referring to, more me having warned security that then being so lax would result in a major incident.

Not entirely sure how it's off topic that someone pointed out to island management that they were risking a serious incident and now one has happened.

Seriously?

There is no indication that a failing if security led to this.
The whole entrance set up, and as a result security process, has been rearranged since your incident anyway.
Your personal issue with them was just that.

Crass.

It happened inside the park which whilst not a sure thing does suggest something may have been missed at check.

This isn't about my incident anyway, more the general poor bag check setup in general which I'm not the only person who's noticed.

Lockdown sounds like tabloids dramaticising. Rides etc were opened later to keep people away from the area
I believe a more accurate term is probably lock out to quote American schools, where they seal off the entrance/exits but operations inside remain normal.
