Lets just hope the budget isn't cut and we get what we have already seen. I really don't want another Air on our hands when it comes to planned theming and then being let down - now I have to say it - AIR TUNNEL! :D

Just thought i would resurrect this SW7 topic so that construction photo's can be posted without getting in the way of the other bits of discussion.

So if you have any construction pics feel free to post them

:D

I know you guys quite want lap bars if it is a Eurofighter, but I won't hold my breath for it. If the public sees wooden coasters as unsafe, how will they react to inverting without OTSRs? ::)

Should be ok I think, G-Force at Drayton has been around a fair while now, it's just a shame the lapbars on it are pure pain.

How many people know of G-Force though?

Whilst I suppose not many have, I doubt all that many people would be put off by them. Rides do new things that look mad... and it's what makes people go on them. Watching Oblivion for the first time looks mental but people still run to it after watching!

I guess that's fair enough. Even in the 'crazier' country of America, a family seemed shocked by Scorpions loop as it had lap bars :p

Gerstlauer seem to exclusively do lap bars these days though, and I certainly don't think they would change that philosophy for probably their biggest ever build, especially after the SAW saga ;)

I'am 100% certain it's going to have lapbars, seems the majority of gerstlauer eurofighters are using lapbars as of late and sw7 will be no exeption.

But how many inversions have the latest models of eurofighters had?

At the moment going upside with only a lapbar seems shocking too the GP as that number of inversions has never been done before with only lapbars and with Merlins H&S (e.g. Saw being 1.4m when the other models of its type are 1.2m) it will have OTSRs i think :)

Yeah, that's a valid point. It'd be funny to hear what the chavvier members of the public have to say ;D

I am pleased to be able to present the first SW7 construction update on TowersStreet Talk, with photos fresh from today (13th June 2012) :D

From riding Oblivion it could be seen that about half of the Black Hole tent base/foundation has now been dug up. Today they were continuing to dig this up and break down some of the larger pieces of rock. The photos also show where the site offices are.

*All photos were taken from areas of the park accessible to the public. Please do not reproduce photos without permission. TowersStreet may use these photos if they wish in any way needed!

I don't think that been thrown upside down on a rollercoaster with only a lapbar is a terrifying prospect for any member of the gp, the coaster itself is probably more scary to them than the restraint system the ride has. Thunderlooper, scorpian, g force and i think a 1 or 2 coasters in america all have lapbars and it's not a problem.

I'am very confident that SW7 will be a lapbar system.

In images 1,2 and 4 is that part of the Black Hole tent supports that are still left over? I remember seeing them in images before (and assumed that's what they were) however it seems strange that they are still there!

It surely makes no difference how many inversions there are, the centripetal force on the rider is nearly always the same through the loops due to the speed of the train so a larger number of inversions wouldn't be any less comfortable.
