2013: General Discussion

I thought the bookworm's head falling off looked hilarious. And much less scary than when he actually works.

Well at least he still tells jokes about bumble bees.

Just an update on the Burger Kitchen part. They now offer a Double Bacon Cheeseburger, which was pretty nice when I had it earlier today. And they also now offer the option to make your meal large, for an extra 60p.

It's improving, slowly but surely! :)

Pleased to hear that they have added an option to the menu. I'll have to give it a try when I'm next there.

:)

It's about time they added more

Yesterday Oblivion had gone back to the 'new' style of loading i.e. clear the station before opening the airgates.

What was the queue time at the time?

Only asking to see if they were doing it to ensure guests were off station as they do when the queue is 5mins or less, or if they genuinely have brought it back.

5 mins, I was just wondering if it was back for good.

Not sure if it has already been mentioned, but the Hotels are now advertising The Woodland Walk as opening at 8:30am again :)

About time, I always thought it was strange opening it after ERT (which all hotel guests get) had finished!

AT LAST! We have commented every single time at reception when we go to catch the monorail that it makes no sense! ;D ;D

It makes so much sense that is crazy it was cut in the first place.

My boyfriend was disappointed he couldn't get a spicy chicken burger near the Sealife Aquarium yesterday. Us girls went for pizza but he doesn't like pizza/pasta. I can't remember if he was told they weren't doing them anywhere or at that particular outlet.

Uh oh...as soon as the Smiler's running again, another problem appears! Just seen on towers times Facebook a photo of half the rmt stalled halfway around the track...

It's done a little bit more than just stalled... When half of the train gets left behind then you know that something is wrong!

I hope this makes Alton Towers realise that they have to properly maintain their coasters over the winter period which they should be doing anyway!

The Runaway Mine Train has been closed today. Now these weird pictures have appeared on Facebook.

Pictures taken by Gax over on TowersTimes Forum (his original post).

Some people are claiming the train separated much like the 2006 incident. Although there's been no actual word of this so I'm not sure what to make of that.

Might have been separated on purpose by Alton Towers as a way to get it back to the station for whatever reason?

I hope it might be something like that. Could there have been a failure with the system causing it to lose power or something along those lines?

If it opens tomorrow with all the carriages then it's nothing to worry about really...

According to twitter yesterday the train came to a stop inside the tunnel with people still on it. I'm sure the splitting of the train is just Towers' way of getting it back to the station.
