The footpath to King Inas Rocks via the back of the hotels is outside the theme park fence, the woodland walk was sort of double gated within the the park boundary.
The footpath drops down into the valley, the woodland walk roughly followed the contours.

2018 - where you can even pay for the admissions plaza's brick work yourself!

On a serious note, however, I'm keen to see what people think of this!

I like the idea of this, very interesting idea, however only guaranteed to be there for two years although anticipated to be longer. However, I think this will only look good if the entire Plaza is covered, having patches as spots blank would look odd.

Terms and Conditions

- For each brick purchased a certificate will be sent to the person named in the certificate box. Please check for any errors as we will use the exact copy received.
- Inscriptions may include names, hometown, a special date or any other special occasion. We do not engrave lifespans, profanity or anything deemed inappropriate.
- All bricks remain the sole property of the Alton Towers Resort
- Alton Towers Resort reserves the right to approve all lettering and to refuse any application
- It is envisaged that the bricks will be displayed at the Admissions plaza site (or elsewhere if specifically stated by us) for a minimum of 2 years but it is anticipated to be longer. In exceptional circumstances, the Alton Towers Resort reserves the right to move or relocate the bricks without liability
- Although of excellent quality and designed to last, bricks may become worn or damaged over time owing to natural causes. No liability can be accepted for this by us
- The Alton Towers Resort has complete control over the location and installation date of the bricks
- Once you submit your order form, there will be no opportunity to make any amendments to the inscription.

People will just walk all over you!

Seen the following in FB, could we have engraved on the bricks "Merlin is destroying Alton Towers"

I think this is a great idea, providing that they don't completely destroy Alton, your name will be there for a long time. They should also do this for new rides too, give something for people to read whilst in the queue lines. They do this at Colchester zoo. Many people use them as birthday or in memory gifts. My wife and I have a chimp and sun bear paw print for a couple of our wedding anniversary's.

But please Alton, whatever great money making ideas you have, please reverse the cuts and make Alton great again!

So they expect me to pay £50 for a brick...and I don't even get to throw it at them?

Yeah...no thanks mate, if I want to leave my mark at towers, I just find a nice secluded part of the gardens and squat in a bush!

Saw similar sort of thing DLP on the weekend and they were not in great shape. Most were eroded away or cracked in half. If Disney can't be bothered to look after them then what hope will you have with Merlin?

They'll probably dug up after year and made into Nitrognie hut, then you'll have to buy the 2019 brick.

Why stop at bricks, start selling acres of land on a VR moon in Galactica.

If the paving standard is similar to Towers Street in 2013 when you were able to pick bricks out and turn them over to the grubbier, muddy side, then I'd be half tempted to wander round the entrance plaza and flip them all over. £50...£100....£150....£200...
