Glad you had a good experience! I'm in the same position yet have been promised calls and emails back at least 10 times from various people within Alton Towers and the hotels team with no luck yet. I have to repeatedly call myself only to be put into a position where they make me feel like I'm lying, despite speaking to a hotel supervisor on the day who assured me that I would be able to reschedule and I would get an email about it same day also. Absolutely atrocious customer service. Something that I've come to expect from Alton Towers however.

Your not the only one. Day three of phone calls day three of promised returned calls. Day three of no further forward.
Don’t know if it’s an Aton Towers issue or Holidays Extra issue.
Things use to be easer to sort out before the hotel booking was outsourced

They were having issues at splash reception with HX quoting bad prices online compared to walk up monday so I'd guess the latter.

Could anyone please recommend somewhere nice for food near the park? We are stopping in Uttoxeter so our that way would be great too. Thanks!
 
It will probably be busier than this week but the park will be more than manageable. Monday or Tuesday next week would be great time to visit before what will hopefully be a busier Easter period.

They are surely going to need to extend the closing times, Wicker Man is 45 minutes on a quiet day, also noticeable that when it soft opened on Tuesday everything was 0-5 minutes, now it is open from the start of the day, there has been a slight increase in everything else, not much but still slightly. So when it is busy, they are going to need to extend closing times.
 
Although I don't think the park should be closing at 4pm in the first place, I don't think the biggest queue being only 45 mins will make them open the park any later. Most of the other rides are practically walk on by the looks of it.

I can see this being some sort of Fire Breathing show, especially with the platform's matching those we saw on the wickerman VIP event.
