Isnt the video system there just a standard projection system?I wonder how much effort would be needed to put the games onto the ice age video system?

I seem to remember them doing a football event for the Euro years ago. They even went as far as themeing the oblivion shuttles with grass on the floors and football shirts on the seats, and an England flag on the front.
I think the main game watching area was the dome where Woodcutters is now.

Last thing I would want to see at a theme park is the bloody World Cup!
Theme parks should offer some escapism from sports that aggrandise violence.
The 70s called, they want their viewpoint back.

I wish that was true, 5 yrs working in A&E proved otherwise...

£55 to watch England at the World Cup. Well, I guess it's a speed of downfall not far off Oblivion's...

Same here, plus I don't have any interest in football what so ever.
I visited Thorpe yesterday for the first time since they first open DBGT. Upon leaving, the dome was full of people stood blocking the pathway through the dome as they were all stood there eyes glued to the screen with yesterdays match on. All Jess and I wanted to do, was to leave the park to go home without having to negotiate a wheelchair through a crowed of people just stood there all staring at the screen oblivious to the fact that we wanted to get through

No event is ever going to cater to what everyone likes! There was a brilliant atmosphere in Fountain Square when they showed England v Germany in the 2010 World Cup (followed by the brilliant P!nk concert).

A brilliant atmosphere if you like chanting and cheering 22 overpaid guys kicking a ball into a rectangle.....

95% of our population are football supporters*. It makes sense to at least offer the opportunity of watching the World Cup.
*The other 5% are missing out
