Admittedly this is largely a marketing tactic but it's still quite interesting
I have no idea how they expect kids to get 17 minutes of thrills per hour given the queue times during the summer holidays!
Does anyone know if the rides will be testing yet? I know the park is hired in 1 1/2 weeks so was wondering when they'll start testing
The idea that the rides all sit entirely idle over winter, then some engineer goes "Ah, we open in x weeks, we should start testing now", is laughable.Does anyone know if the rides will be testing yet? I know the park is hired in 1 1/2 weeks so was wondering when they'll start testing
I'm interested to see if smiler will be openI wonder if all rides will actually be available for the first hire weekend? (including the returning Retro Squad)

You jest ... All around the world I struggle to think of another ride made by a 'real' coaster manufacturer that rides like something constructed using only the contents of a stationery cupboard. No they reserve the duck tape for the nemesis monster, the real stuff they use for the smiler is PVA glue.
you raise a good point Mr @Rick The Smiler rides like it's made out of pencils put together with PVA glue. I actually avoid riding the smiler when I visit because it makes me feel uncomfortable, not really painful but just uncomfortable. You jest ... Breaking news: Newly painted bins at Alton Towers
This is a good point, they either need new bins or coloured bin bags.I really do hate the sort of bin that has the bin bag pulled over it on the outside. Looks so messy.
