Difficult to know, they haven't had a decent one for eighteen years or so.

I imagine it will be pretty busy, geeks plus some families at the start of half term.
Still hoping to be there by lunchtime though!
Opening day can be a pain, opening late for the official opening and the like.
I imagine Icon will have a massive queue, all the ither rides dead until after lunch.
Usual opening stuff.

I'm not 100% sure it is the start of half term....most schools break up friday but my kids break up thursday which is a bonus
I think i might give Icon a miss until later in the day and hopefully get on a good few other rides first quickly as i only get to blackpool a couple of times a year now....staying in the big blue so won't matter how long it takes to get on
I said the same about skipping Wicker man on opening day though and went straight to it like an excited little school boy

Here's some more reviews from yesterday;
My boarding pass for Saturday got me a seat on the first public Icon train, on the front row, for me that was worth the money in memories alone. I may not be liked for it, but that's not my problem really.
What time did you get to the front gate?

I had the pleasure this morning of riding Icon on what turned out to be a great day at BPB.
If you go expecting fierce launches and white knuckle thrills then you will feel let down after you ride it, the two launches are rather tame in all honesty compared to what I have been used to like TTD, KK and Furius Baco.
However that out of the way I can honestly say its a really superb addition to the park and something its been crying out for over the years. What it may lack in the white knuckle department it more than makes up for by being just a great fun ride.
There are the odd pockets of airtime, one part a bit ejector! Then you have twists and turns, but my favourite part has to be the 2nd launch from a rolling start going into an element that gives fantastic hang time.
The station building and the whole area look very, very stylish indeed and of a good quality finish that will hopefully last a good few years. I would also say the trains colour scheme looks a lot better when you see it yourself than from photos as I wasn't too sure about them at first.
Get yourselves to BPB as I'm sure it's a ride the vast majority of people will really like.

Here now. Very exciting. Thompson family, press, coaster clubs, and a bloody loud live saxophonist. Enjoy everyone inside the ropes !
I think all on-ride POVs look slow compared to how they ride. My best coaster is Mako but watching back my own POV, it doesn't look as good as I remember it.Man it looks a hell of a lot slower than it feels. Seems to have been filmed on an empty train early in the morning though.
I rode Icon Saturday morning with clubPBE, middle seats. It didnt feel slow at all. The pumping soundtrack in teh station adds to the experience - obviously missing from the official POV and being only teh 2nd public train out that day, it was not warmed up. Even today, people are not going to get the full experience because a key feature of Icon is its interaction with the other rides, which will be enhanced when said rides are operating full of riders (Dipper, steeple chase, PB express and PMBO with more than 1 train). So if we all love the ride now, that bodes very well for how the GP will react when it officially opens on Friday. This is a stunning coaster (though it hasn't displaced Mako as my top ride - I just love a hyper coaster with airtime). BPB is a brilliant park, but it just got even better!
