The announcement made by Public Health England 22 minutes ago still says that only 2 people have died, so I'd say that's the most trustworthy source we can go by:
Interestingly, it would seem that thus far, less than 1% of those being tested are coming out positive, so the government are clearly being very vigilant in testing those with even slight symptoms.
I’d agree with you there on keeping to the trusted sources. Hasn’t seen the PHE release yet so forgive me.
It certainly seems that we’ve got a pretty good grip on this thing so far.
U/IAmPixel on Reddit has been graphing the outbreak since day one.
This graph is updated to the 29th day of the outbreak, today in UK and a week ago in Italy. It further shows just how well we’re handling this despite what some people say.
Am I still concerned? Absolutely. But I have definetely gone from an anxious panic to a more calm cautious.
Edit; Just to add on the testing point; as of 7am we have tested 21,666 people, with 206 confirmed infected, given a confirmed case rate of 0.95% which is damn incredible considering we’re not locked down or anything
