He joined a rival Premier League team. That's not on. If you're a team's best player you don't simply move to one of their closest rivals.

Not at a good conference team like Luton or Stockport, no way. If I really, really pushed myself to the absolute limit then maybe I'd get a look in at a smaller team like Alfreton Town, but I'd be only a fringe player and that's even if I overlooked the fact I'm too injury prone and hot headed for playing football as a living. It's just not a possibility to be honest...

If I could play for a big 5th tier side, of course I would want to, but sadly that's never going to happen.

They aren't one of their closest rivals though? Last year Arsenal finished 19 points adrift of United, and didn't even compete further in the Champions League to compensate. The year before the gap was 12 points, the year before that 10 points, the year before 18 and so on. Arsenal haven't been United's 'closest rivals' for a good 8-9 years now.

So a top 4 team selling to another top 4 team is fair game just because there's clear space between them? He's stabbed Arsenal in the back. Arsenal will be laughing they've got such a good deal for him, but it's pretty disgraceful on his part to move to one of the teams Arsenal will be trying to compete against.

Had he moved to Everton, say, would you have been incensed? Because as far as I am aware, Arsenal compete against them just as much as they do United. Any realist can see that Arsenal have no chance of winning anything major in the near future - they can certainly not even hope to compete with the likes of United/City anymore as demonstrated by the 8-2 thrashing at the beginning of last season.

And that is a good point, they are receiving the princely total of £24m for a player who would have left for free next season. They can buy someone young and hungry for that, rather than trying to keep an unsettled player in his prime happy when they are essentially no hopers.

Norwich have signed Lazio defender Javier Garrido on a season long loan with the option to buy at the end of the season.

Slightly less. But it doesn't matter. Leaving to another big Premier League team isn't right. He just comes across as another mercenary. He wasn't forced out, he followed the money.

My prediction for Cardiff vs Huddersfield tonight is that Cardiff will win 1-0

:)

In regards to RVP, regardless of money, it doesn't take a genius to work out that he's got a far better chance of winning silverware this season at United than he does at Arsenal; all you need to do is look at the look at the two teams record's over the past few seasons.

:)

Seeing Cardiff playing in their fake colours today just reminded me how much I all these hate foreign owners in football today who don't give a toss about things like fans, class or tradition, and only care about profits. Football is and never should be a business.

Not to mention it was bloody confusing! I kept thinking Cardiff were Blue and Huddersfield were Red, Then remembered that Cardiff had changed because red is "Lucky"

But football is back! Can't wait until tomorrow! :D

Lost our first 2 games, 3-2 to Watford and 4-1 to Bristol City and now we're bottom of the league

Lost our first two games, 3-0 to Crawley and 2-1 to Crewe, and we're bottom of the league.

To make it worse, our local rivals Donny are top.

Wow, first time we've been happy since we beat Stoke 5-0. We actually played some football for the first time in months. This CAN'T be happening. This will be a bumpy season but I predict 8th. Next season when we've recovered is when we can really challenge.

Threw it away badly there.

Great game, both teams played well, very exciting to watch. Borini was wasted out wide, Shelvey is not god enough, Allen looks to be the player Henderson should have been, Sterling has hopefully ended Downing's career, Skrtel, Kelly and Reina need a good long look in the mirror (well, to be fair, Skrtel and kelly did well until they gave the goals away),hope Lucas is ok.

We scored two amazing goals. And then gifted two terrible ones. Hopefully we're not going to have a repeat of last season because that was very encouraging apart from the two moments of madness.

Gotta say that all those Stoke fans who booed Ramsey today are a total disgrace to football, nearly as bad as the idiots who sing about Hillsborough or Munich.

Everton played great yesterday, and I'm hopeful that for once we can get a good start to the season and not be playing catch up from December as per usual.

Seen Afobe as a lone striker today, he didn't seem to gel earlier with others so I'd expect something special maybe a goal or two to nag at Crawley today. He's already had a crack at 0-0. C'mon Benik!

God awful start for us. Lost all 3 of our league matches and sit bottom of the league and been knocked out by Preston in the League Cup thanks to a 4-1 Defeat. Still frustrated to how we sold Ambrose, Scannell and Cylne. Sort it out Palace!

Average performance from Norwich but with individual signs of promise. We never looked in danger but equally didn't challenge too much either... Quality passing play and Hoolahan looked fantastic. They did why they needed to do and we're in round 3.

Norwich 2 (Lappin, Hoolahan pen) - 1 Scunthorpe (Duffy)

Well at least you haven't lost 2-1 to Crawley.

I saw this season as a rebuild season but that was disgusting. I have nothing to say, it's come to the point where I'm not even disappointed anymore.
