There's the 'we' again - I'm not sure how representative you are of the entirety of Merseyside...Blaze said:You say that like it's something we're proud of. We hate how he takes England seriously.

Club should come before country. I don't think playing a friendly against Estonia in March is 'fulfilling a childhood dream' in the same way as the World Cup. Especially if he gets injured and misses the rest of the season, which, back when he was at his peak, included cup finals, semis and a serious title challenge.

Well I'm always happy to see Baines & Jagielka play for my country, I was delighted for Osman getting his (belated) debut for England, and if Tony Hibbert finally gets a cap I'll be just as happy for him as I was for Osman. And when Ross Barkley finally breaks into the England team I won't laugh at him for wanting to play for England.

International football isn't all about playing friendlies against Estonia in March though is it, and you know that. Gerrard was captaining England at the Euros in the summer. Friendlies are just another aspect of international football, and they allow for managers to work out how they want to play when it comes to the competitive games, or simply test a few different things.

Blaze said:They're a distraction that get in the way of the league. England lost any credibility they had when they appointed Roy Hodgson, which makes it even more pointless and annoying.
Is that bitterness I can see? Just because he messed up at Liverpool?
Roy's a good manager in my opinion, and considering the way he was treated by your fans I can't blame him for the poor results.

What has Roy Hodgson ever won? Scandinavian league titles from 20 years ago don't count. He gave us Christian Poulsen and Paul Konchetsky and had us playing some of the worst football we've ever seen. He called a 1-0 win over Bolton a 'famous victory' and described losing the derby as a good display, and he blamed the fans after losing to Wolves. You think he didn't deserve to be treated badly?
We knew he wasn't good enough. We sang "Hodgson for England" because we wanted him out, and where better to send him than England? We hate England, and we knew when he failed with them it'd turn the press that love him so much against him. The day he became manager of England was the funniest day ever. We sang it ironically and the FA took it seriously.

So the FA appointed Hodgson because of Liverpool fans chanting "Hodgson for England" at matches, of course, don't know I missed that. He may not have done a good job at Liverpool but he did at both Fulham and West Brom. And he's not doing too badly so far for England. People like you Blaze optimise why I dislike Liverpool as a football club, some of the fans are just unbelievable.
Hodgson may have brought you those players, club legend "King Kenny" wasted a load of your money on Andy Carroll, Jordan Henderson and Stuart Downing. Quite possibly the biggest waste of money in football ever, barring Leicester's signing of Matt Mills.

No, I'm not saying he was appointed because they heard us singing about him. I'm saying it's hilarious that they made it reality.
Yeah, we're all massive fans of Henderson and Downing aren't we. We were chaining ourselves to Mellwood when we heard Carroll was going on loan. Outside the '#LFCFAMILY' types, RAWK and the likes, everyone sees Henderson for the fraud he really is.

So, I assume you've met the man and asked him that yourself?
