Hansa-Park: general discussion

It really is flying up now! Some new photos I've found over on TPR:

As @Rob said, this thing really is flying up now... And actually looks, really really quite good! That's not to say that I don't think it still has the potential to be absolutely horrific :p

Anyway, today they have finally started to add the track to the frankly huge and incredibly bizarre looking support structure for the 'Non Inverting Sea Serpent Butterfly Roll' THING! (Does anybody actually know what it's going to be? Anyway, a few pictures...

Seeing that 2nd picture with the work men up there with it, really does make you realize how huge this thing is... And know how crazy that structure is too! :p

Ah good old Gerst, they just can't help themselves when it comes to awful looking profiling. I can almost feel the jolts from here!

A few more angles of this crazy element from the Karnan mini-site:

I fully expect this to de-rail at some point! :p

:)

Random non-inverting roll is random... Which is probably why it looks so weird...

This whole project is weird mind, the way it's going to dominate the entire half of the park is something that really concerns me...

Time for a Karnan photo update! Firstly from the Karnan mini-site:

The more I see of this the more it scares me. It's either going to be epic or horrendous and I just don't know which!

:)

That tower looks pretty epic to me now the ride is taking shape. Certainly intimidating

Jesus.

I think it'd look better if there weren't a horrendously coloured Star Flyer right next to it that's almost the same height. Even then though...that support structure is just beyond vile.

What was that, you would like to see some more photos from the Karnan mini-site?

Karnan's structure of sheer doom was completed yesterday, here are some photos from HAPA-Forum's Facebook page:

It looks like the trackwork is now nearing completion. Hopefully that means that we might see some testing before the end of the month!

:)

Agreed. I think it'll come down to whether or not it has Gerstache. Remind me, do we know if this will have OTSRs or lap restraints?

A few more photos of that piece fully in place - and good old Gerst, it doesn't quite fit yet!

Still a fair amount of track to go up:

Well, at least the Smiler has proven that poorly aligned pieces don't affect the ride comfort after it's finished.

The issue of lapbars is nothing to do with the fact it is or is not in the UK. Cut with the hysteria, folks.

Lapbars are simply not appropriate on some coasters due to forces, clearance and other factors.

If anybody who has been on Karacho would maintain that The Smiler would ever have been OK with the same bars, you're off your rocker.

:)

Then call me a toadstool, paint me green, and post me to Alaska.

Baaaaa.

Agreed Smiler and lapbars are just a no no.
