Same here Dave as I have a week off beginning of May.Well, if anyone does fancy a trip back there I've been considering going around my birthday in early May...

I just looked at flights over the early May BH weekend and they are around £100 return. Quite a bit more than they were last year. With accommodation for 2 nights and other associated costs, it would be at least £250 for a 2-night break to Liseberg. I was rather hoping for something less!

I was reading the latest edition of Park World the other day when I noticed an advert for a company called Meticulous Ltd, a British company based in Leicester which specialises in theming. Featured on their Facebook as well as on their website are a few photos of their past work, and it seems that they've done work for Liseberg's Atmos Fear, Hotel Gasten, the park's mascots and more.
Here are a few of the photos from their FB account:
For those unaware of how amazing the Ghost Hotel maze is, here's a Youtube walkthrough using concept images and some of the audio featured in the attraction itself:

Looks like Liseberg could be getting another thrill flat in 2016:

Screamscape said:According to the rumor mill Liseberg will be adding something intense and fun for the thrill seekers once again in 2016. While I'm not sure what it will be just yet, I'm told it will be along the same lines as this year's Mechanica ride.

Liseberg are closing the shot (yay) and drop (boo) towers and the small ferris wheel to open three new flats.
Presumably one will be a Starflyer.

Pretty good news to be honest. Liseberg really struck me as the park which has two of everything and having three tower rides seemed more than just a bit unnecessary

The fact that Liseberg has kept two ferris wheels and three tower rides going has always struck me as a bit odd. The older wheel is very pretty at night when seen from in front of Hotel Gasten and the counter service fish and chips place, but I've never done it because Lisebergshjulet made it seem pointless. Presumably a lot of their guests think the same way. The S&S towers do offer slightly different experiences to Atmosfear, and both times I've visited I've made a point of doing them. The average guest won't know that though, going straight for the tallest, and they're poorly presented and quite out of the way on top of the hill so I won't miss them much.
It'll be interesting to see what they add to their already strong collection of flat rides in their place, and if they're going in the same loctions how they'll ensure that guests keep making the journey up the hill to them when the 'new factor' wears off.

Liseberg have fully removed the wheel from the Larger & new wheel located at the front of the park. The shot & drop towers & smaller wheel are also removed.
I noticed there are also some portable offices been installed on the side of the hill near the Huss swinging arms. The Christmas lights are still attached to AtomsFear but no longer being switched on.
There was a Helix train parked in the station but I struggled to get a photo of that as I was on the coach.

I'm pleased to hear this to be honest. I never understood why a park would have three drop towers, mind you Tivoli has five.
