Well when I was at Thorpe Park on the Preview Day - my friend went to one of the shops and before paying ran back to me and said "Do you have the Lanyard? You get 30% off with it".
So - that's my story.

Or even better post a pic of them!
"This voucher entitles the Passholder to One kid's meal for free with every full priced adult meal purchased.
This offer is not valid in conjunction with any other offer. A kid's meal is for children aged 12 years nad under.
This offer is available for up to 4 free kids meals however each child must be accompanied by an adult purchasing a full priced meal from the same outlet. This voucher is only valid at City Walk Pizza and Pasta Buffet."
Then a few general T&Cs such as subject to availability, etc.

Basically not really worth it!! That's what I thought!
Thanks

Yes basically you have to spend £12 (or what ever it is this season) for pizza/pasta and your child gets it free. Which I believe the park do after 3pm anyway.

Merlin have been slammed by the ASA surrounding adverts regarding the annual pass renewal price. They are of course, playing the "offer could be withdrawn at any time without notice" card as a response.

From TowersStreet News:
Following a lengthy delay from the intended launch date, Merlin have released details of their 'VIP' Annual Pass
option. The details, released on the website today confirm that the pass will allow entry to all Merlin Attractions across the globe, whereas standard and premium passes offer access to UK only attractions and discounts to international locations.
The pass officially launches on Wednesday 18th June at 6pm, and is available at £500 per individual, or £400 per person as a family option of 3,4 or 5 people and a maximum of 3 adults. Perks include:
VIP pass holders also gain access to all other perks on the Premium Pass, as well as some additional 'secret' perks included in the VIP pack.
The pass can be purchased from next Wednesday by calling the booking line on 0800 298 9770. When paying for the pass, you'll be asked to select one of Merlin's UK theme parks, Warwick Castle, LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Manchester, Madame Tussaud's London, the Blackpool Tower Eye, or Brighton or Birmingham SEALIFE to collect your pass. A VIP host will then contact you to arrange a collection date, where you'll be greeted by them personally to process your pass.
The website states that availability will be limited to just 1000 passes, with the FAQs stressing that family members cannot be added at a later date.

For all we know it could just be a spare shareholder prospectus that they had lying aroundNo way I'd pay it but that is pretty good and I'm sure it will be attractive to some. I wouldn't mind a copy of the 'special book' to add to my merch collections!

"Special Book"? What a load of old cobblers!
Not a fan to be honest, the only Merlin attractions "around the globe" worth visiting are Heide, Garda and Legoland Flo-Rida IMO.
Not sure it's worth £500 either, I guess it's the fastrack that's pushed the price up so much.

The genius of this is that all your friends will need to have one too when you go the park - or they'll have to buy FastTrack to keep up with the person with the platinum pass!

Yeah I don't really see the point if just you have one, as chances are if you visit parks abroad you will have friends or family, so they will have to buy tickets anyone, or if you are using the fastrack you will either have to do it on your own ,which may be fine on a ride where fastrack gets you straight on, but on something like Rita or Air you could still queue for 10 minutes. Or your friends and family will have to buy fastrack.
However i'm sure they will sell the 1000.

I would buy one if I had the money or just thought paidfast track cards was a good idea. Bring back good, organised free fastrack or blackpool style speedy passes.
I think speedy passes would work great on rides.
Have a all ride speedy pass for 12 pound and a 6 pound for separate ride categories. Increase the price up to 50 pound for a full queue skip and a 20 pound for half the queue skipped. I think it would bring in more money than the current fast track and you could have a walk around the towers and gardens while waiting. I think they will sell less than 1000 this year and sell all of them next year as I wouldn't buy a pass mid season.
