PortAventura World: Ferrari Land

Red Force sounds dull but Fuerza Roja is pretty swish. I hope they promote use of the latter, if only to hear some of the pronunciations.

I think it fits with the whole area, pretty drab name nothing exciting like this project currently

Name seems ok, nothing special, at least now I can stop refering to it as "super stealth" to my family.

The park is of no interest.

Europe's tallest coaster is opening and nobody gives a flying monkey.

Awkward.

I do wonder if this wasn't at PA, and if it wasn't Ferrari themed, how much more interested in it I'd be.

I've never been a fan of either brand really.

I don't think very.

Let's be honest here, Europe has seen a mass of inventive, interesting layout launch coasters since the surge in top hats in the early/mid 00s.

We have seen iSpeed, Helix, Blue Fire, Taron, Fluch von Novgorod and the rest of the Gerstlauer launch coasters.

So, when you look at this coaster, whilst the launch will no doubt be breathtaking - it literally offers so little.

This coaster is a regression! It's like going back 10-15 years when parks were adding the likes of TTD, KK, Stealth, Xcelerator.

The Intamin Blitz "Neferkesen" added a few years ago in Turkey also commanded similarly little interest because, well, compared to what there already was...

I certainly don't think Red Force will be bad. It's just, well... it's just what it is, really. Not to mention the theming is not much to write home about judging by the looks of it.

I'm a Ferrari fan but this....

RED FORCE

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

77 years of history, of drool worthy cars and of good names. Daytona, Challenge Stradale, California, Dino, Europa, Testarossa, Mondial. Just some off my head.

Red Force is nearly as bad as Ferrari LaFerrari

Has to be one of the worst theme park adverts of recent years. For some reason the "one hour from Barcelona" line really grated me.

So this week PortAventura have begun to reveal the 'real' names for the Ferrari Land attractions and facilities, so it appears the ones used until now have just been project titles. So far the Vertical Accelerator has been named Red Force, a'la'carte restaurant La Trattoria is now called Ristorante Cavallino - Trattoria Italiana and the Bounce-Back Towers have been renamed Thrill Towers, although I think Bounce-Back Towers sounded much better.

The Bounce-Back Towers look like they pack quite a punch when they reach the top, hopefully they'll be quite forceful, I always feel Ice Blast at Pleasure Beach is a bit of a let down after the initial launch.

This is a nice little video showing the latest progression from Ferrari Land, the facades are now being added to many of the buildings with the Colosseum about 2/3 completed.

So today is the media preview for this new 'theme park'. Here is a look at the park map (the roll back warning is rather amusing):

Flying Dreams is the flying theatre that I was speaking about earlier in this thread, knew I hadn't just made it up! ;)

Good news though, all major ride will have Express Pass to ensure that this really is a living hell.

Here is a POV of Red Force:

It was taken a week ago but the areas surrounding the coaster just look so bland. And let's not mention the inside of the station building.

:)

The launch on Red Force looks really good, wasn't expecting it to be a rolling launch either. I'm sure it'll be a good ride at least.

Shame about the area surrounding it though.
