Ride Availability/Operations 2022-24

Nemmy's queue times the first half of the day were poor - always north of 60 mins. This was due to only one car being in use. Then it went down for quite a while. When it came back, it was up to two cars and queue times tumbled.

We ended up queuing 25 mins mid-afternoon (app & queue entrance both said 40) then 10 mins in the final hour (app/entrance said 25). After another go on Galactica, our daughters went back on Nemmy, more or less walking on.

They seem to be running on fumes now after a year of cuts and stubbornness with engineering/technical resource (i.e. not bolstering it). End of the season still feels like a long way to stagger through to.

I’m not defending the crap season but they have had tech services jobs advertised all year and increased the salary so I don’t think there is a stubbornness on their part on that one.

Even if they fully recruited in August the new starters wouldn’t be signed off until February unless they have changed their training rules.

Obviously they shouldn’t have let their wages become uncompetitive in the first place but there you go.

One train with a 2.5 hour queue. 13 and Spinball yet to open. Smiler currently closed after only lasting an hour. Galactica just gone down. They may as well shut up shop for the year now.
Christ there’s some real karens on this forum you got anything better to do other than getting on Towers back whenever rides are down

It’s hardly people being ‘Karens’ when we’ve seen such shocking operations throughout recent months. These are expensive days out, people are entitled to at minimum expect what’s advertised by the park.

I’m here on my annual trip today, and to say availability has been disappointing is an understatement. I could accept it if it was a one off fluke, but it just isn’t is it.

You’re not seriously defending Towers today are you? I think there are some things that Towers are slated too much for but when you currently have 4 of your major rollercoasters down, at least another 1 on reduced capacity and the shortest queue for a major ride is 70 minutes I think something is seriously wrong

Edit: Make that 5 down, Oblivion has just gone down too by the looks of it!

Not when I’m stuck in a queue for a broken down Galactica, and the choice is wait it out or go and wait 2+ hours for one of the few open rides. Which with oblivion now throwing the towel in is just down to Rita, wicker man or nemesis

Well if you’re at the park then fair enough but for anyone not at the park then you can choose not to pay attention to queue times if it winds you up that much😅

There is a massive case for closing the park after the summer in mid-week to try and either rest the rides or get some maintenance done quicker. People just won't go back if it's going to be like this every weekend. Nemesis has always carried this park, they will know this and if it's only on one train that's inexcusable.

I quite enjoy just having a quick glance on ride times when we've decided to do something else for the day.

Today being one of those days as our nieces wanted to go to scarefest for the first time.

Currently sat in a pub instead, having a lovely time, then off to the cinema. No regrets.

To be honest the only hope is that they have been able to recruit and that the new techies will be trained by next year.

Also that they have a robust plan for the closed season. I get they have really old ride stock but thats Merlin’s fault so they need a strategy.
