Ride Availability/Operations 2022-24

There's quite a number of (presumably) school kids here - wouldn't be surprised if schools are running trips today to replace ones that were supposed to run during the heatwaves.

Plus the rain doesn't seem to be agreeing with the rides - Thirteen's been down for an hour or so, Rita and WickerMan have gone down a few times and Smiler's playing up now...

Is Smiler on 4 trains like I've been told? Wasn't sure to believe it as its been on 3 most the year

It was in fact on four trains! Counted two at the station and two going round the track while waiting for it myself. Probably needed too, I haven't seen it go below 45 minute wait all day...

Not sure why we had another ride availability topic created when there’s one already here at the top of the forum. Please double check before creating new topics - the new topic has been merged with the existing one. Thanks :)

Forgot to write about this on Friday when I was there but let's talk about the very mixed operations. I'll sum up the ops and dispatches below.
Galactica- 2 trains 2 stations (26 dispatches)
Oblivion- 4 trains 1 station (36)
Th13teen- 2 trains (37)
Rita- 2 trains (40)
Wicker man- 3 trains (42)
So as you can see some dispatches were sharp, Wicker man good as always and the team on Rita were doing an amazing job at shifting the queues. Unfortunately the ops on Galactica and Oblivion weren't great, resulting in upto 100 min queues for them when the other rides didn't go above 60. Having 3/5 coasters on reduced capacity, adding on to Smiler being shut, meant that queues were a lot higher than I was expecting.

In 2007, when I worked on Rita, the aim was 48 to 54 dispatches per hour equating to 960 to 1080 people an hour.

They cut staffing on the ride by 2 a few years later though and it's never achieved anywhere near since.

What was Oblivions original throughput, wasn't it every minute on a good day?
Used to love the human munching when it was running full tilt, amazing watching the airgates, just like a factory packer!
Original throughput was every minute I think.
Now on 2 stations it's roughly 1m 45 (34 dispatches- 68 shuttles)
On 1 station it was roughly 1m 40 (36 dispatches)

Is it quite rare for them to run 2 trains with two stations on Galaticair ?

I don't recall seeing that for a long time.

I believe it was published at 1900pph.

I'm not sure how close to this figure it actually attained but it certainly wasn't the meagre low 1000s that we get these days.

I think the unconfirmed thoosie mutterage at the time was something like one punter every two seconds if the staff were on the ball, all gates open, and every last seat stuffed, which they often were.
That fits nicely with 1900
