With the world beating side of things, and the number of inversion to beat being 14 - Could there be a piece of trick track in the building which literally flips your round, vertically a few times, maybe to 'hypnotize' you? Surely this would conquer the worlds first and world beating? Just a thought

I do think people are reading into the 'world beating' phrase in the wrong direction. Why wouldn't they market it as 'record breaking' if they were aiming for a world record like the inversion record? At the risk of turning into 'that guy who kept posting definitions of words from the internet into the SW7 thread', a world-beater is "One that is markedly superior to all others, as in the ability to succeed.". My interpretation of all this is that we could well be seeing a gimmick-free coaster, which is possibly more exciting than the announcement of any flimsy 'world first' feature.

Plus remember Nemesis Inferno was marketed as 'the worlds most intense roller coaster' back mid-2002.

So....marketing jargon isn't always to me trusted!

The way I read the use of 'advocates' is that given the majorly sinister theme going on here, the "cures" prescribed by this ministry will obviously be more uncouth and thus I see 'advocates' as being more...people on a board of partners with the institution? Willing to endorse and fund (and ADVOCATE) the controversial methods used, rather than being patients themselves. That would then tie in in a marketing way insofar as advocating the treatment to others would promote it, and thus "Advocates wanted" suggests they want people to come look around to see if they would want to support the facilities... Maybe.

Just because there's no way it could look like I was analysing this any more ridiculously...this crazy smiley thing (does everyone think it's the actual ride logo? I'd love it if it was) has very loopy eyes, which coupled with the twisty twisty DNA from earlier marketing could give some more weight to theories about inversions...

That's how I read it, but that's why I'm confused as the people that would be riding it would not be 'advocates' as such. Unless they actually mean to test it out before opening to the public. But then the wording is poor to suggest that

Unless of course, the context of The Sanctuary is that you're looking around the facility to consider becoming an advocate, whereas the ride itself represents the patient experience (presuming the two narratives are linked that closely)

Just looking at the idea of the worlds first and the inversions record, I had an idea.

Picture it, the train pulls up in the area just before the first lift, and on the doors in front is a static hypnotic swirl as seen on the smiley face. The entire track section then rotates around your eye line, creating the illusion of the swirl hypnotising you, whilst also giving the inversion record.

Flash of light, etc, then the doors open and you continue along the circuit...

Some how, I think the idea of a rotating trick track will not come to fruition, mainly due to the fact that I can't imagine the majority of the general public will enjoy slowly rotating upside down 7 or more times on the axis and then continuing with the rest of the outdoor section just to obtain the inversion record. I think the idea is great for the hypnotising nature but I could be wrong.

If the track did rotate 7 times then Alton could always add more rotations so that the ride was never beaten on the inversion count.

Still think there will be a gimmick though, what is another question though

They won't rotate people 7 times on a trick track to get a record but that trick track idea just to invert once isn't a bad idea.

Lots of new signs and banners on park today with the new marketing style! I have lots of photos that I'll post later.

In terms of the site; yet more digging today, still no concrete and more flooded holes. I'm glad that they have confirmed opening day, I'd imagine that over the next few weeks the rate of work will take off so that they make up the time they've lost over the past month or so. Also, senior management paid the construction site a visit this morning and Mr Crabbe was taking photos of it on a camera!

Finally for now, advocates wanted: have they been to Legoland or something?

This new advertising is just so slick and clean, I'm just so excited about this!

My worry with an element in which the track itself rotated would be that it just wouldn't be a pleasant sensation at all, given that in my mind at least it'd have to turn really quite slowly, which'd just be painful (see Slammer )

Slammer is FINE! I am more worried by such an element being painful because of the ride located a few hundred meters to the left of the SW7 site

The big banners are around the main construction site, down the path near Sonic/X-sector and also near the turnstyles in the park.

That hole could easily fit 6 or 7 inversions in, to me it is a huge underground cavern that will have a roof and the rest of the track on top.
I think this for two reasons, firstly if you we're going to put in supports for the track you would drive them into the ground or just dig very small holes and concrete them in and secondly where has all the soil gone! If you we're going to fill the holes in again why go to the expense of removing all of the soil off site.
The only argument against this is the length of the ride will be huge but if you have 3 brake sections then you could have 3 trains on the track at once.

This is at the top of the mini-bus park. To me this looks like a lot of fencing ready to be placed around track once it has been delivered. They used fencing just like this when Thirteen's track was in car park J. Also it would make sense to keep track here rather than J as they will want all tarmac car parks available for busy Scarefest/fireworks days. And I reckon track will be delivered to a car park as I don't think there's enough free space on the access roads around X-Sector for all the track to be stored.
