I didn't get an email, I don't think any are sent out.

There isn't an email and we have your entry

Probably just some of the more favourite ones of ours! There are a few quite funny ones indeed

This is going to be a really nice present for someone, well done team, and I hope it brings you some more publicity
Now the potential slight negativity
Given how a couple of things have gone in the past with regards to this type of 'competition' between the 'Towers' and the current 'hierarchy' of this site, I'd become very cynical once more if the winner of this turned out to be a friend or regular acquaintance of someone linked to the TS team. I'm not saying it would be rigged, but people who have been around for a while may start to think that some things are not quite the co-incidence that other things have been made out to be in the past.
Good luck to everyone anyway

At the end of the day I think that's a risk anyone takes with any competition really. Rule out the people who know the team and you rule out most of the community
We've done everything we can to make this competition accessible to as many people as possible, whilst also giving everyone an equal chance of winning. This is one of the reasons we've asked a third party to draw the winner. The team will have no involvement in that

It shall be interesting to see what the random draw throws up then
I just hope it goes to someone who will really love the experience and that it will be something special for them, and for a few of their loved ones. I'd hate there to be any thoughts that the winner hadn't been selected entirely randomly. I've entered (my 100 words were a bit of a joke obviously) but I'd rather one of the more enthusiastic younger members win to be completely honest. The likes of this site would be nothing without the up and coming enthusiasts.
P.S. Just in the interest of fairness, who is the third party who will choose at random? Is it some company which is a specialist in random competition winner decisions? My mate was talking about starting a company that did that but I told him that it would never work as it seemed a bit ridiculous. Maybe he was right all along!

Re: Re: SW7 Competition
It's not 100% certain but it's likely to be someone at Alton themselves. No one apart from the team will see the full list of entries, the winner will be decided by them drawing a number at random, which we then associate with the relevant entry at this side.
The level of discussion we had about making this as fair as possible was unbelievable, it equated to a good 4 or 5 hours in the end! We've tried as hard as we possibly can to make this fair. Although I see what you're saying about wanting a newer, younger member and perhaps not a meet up regular winning, turning it on its head for a second - why isn't it equally as fair for someone who has supported the site since the beginning to have an equal chance of winning.
I'm more than happy with the process we're using for the winner and can be 110% confident in defending that process whoever wins
.
My only wish is that the winner is a true supporter of the site, be that brand be our established - and they continue to stick around after winning.

Hey there Craig
When I mentioned that I would like to see a newer or younger member of the forum win the prize, that was just my gut feeling, not what I think is fair. What I think is fair is that everyone who enters should have an exactly equal chance of winning as it's just pot-luck according to the rules that have been stated, and the 100 words shouldn't matter one bit (unless I've read them wrong)? In a way, I was just saying that I'd rather one of the younger one's win than me as I've already been to some special events at the Towers, but it's down to chance so there's no control over that.
You've been speaking to them for 4-5 hours about this and you don't know who will make the draw? That's like a comedy sketch of someone going to the chip shop and being told that they'll have to wait for chips.
So, someone, somewhere, who you may or may not know, will pick a piece of paper out of a hat with a random number on it, or similar, and the person with the corresponding number from TST will be the winner, regardless of what has been written in the 100 words that you've requested the members of this site to complete, and which you will view and share where deemed appropriate? Sounds good. I always just want things to be fair and I don't like to see people get hood-winked really, that's all.
Maybe my lovely entry will get shared if I win at random

The draw, like any draw, will be made by a third party and will be completely random. The discussions we have had as a team lasted for hours. We sent our plans to Alton and they okayed them - hence why we don't know exactly who will be doing the draw.
Somebody, with no connection to this competition, will draw out a random number which we can match to the corresponding entry on the site. That is how the winner will be picked and that is how it has been stated all along. The 100 words are just for fun and have no bearing on the winner of the competition - something else which has been stated all along.
It sounds like there was just a tinge of sarcasm in your post so I'm just clarifying

I think I've entered but it returned me back to the submission page with all the answers still filled in so I'm not quite sure :-\
Anyway I look forward to seeing what everyone's put. I've got more to add to my entry which I had to cut but want to repost once this is all over.
