Thatcher's dead

But atleast even Johnny Rotten is sensible and says he won't dancer on her grave and that anyone who wants to/does is sick and evil I'm guessing you fall into that camp Blaze.

His views became null and void the moment he sold out and started flogging butter.

Johnny Rotten is about as punk as a ham sandwich. The Sex Pistols were nothing more than a loud noise, as opposed to real punk bands like The Clash and Stiff Little Fingers.

The cracks started showing after Philpot, but now they're in full on meltdown mode.

I personally think it's just great that they've let us know she needed implants on the NHS, as it makes their argument against her completely solid and is definitely taking the moral high ground here ::)

Johnny Rotten says women should shut up and listen when a man is talking so I'm not sure anyone should really pay attention to him.

I didn't realise how natural someone's breasts were, or how they acquired and at what cost, had anything to do with Thatcher's death. Maybe they're trying to say "If Thatcher had her way this woman would have had to pay for her new boobs". Nice of them also to single out a teacher out of the thousands of people who partied. It fits into their agenda of hating education, because the worst thing in the world for The Mail is people becoming educated and realising what an awful rag it is.

My mum is a teacher, yet still reads the Mail even though she knows full well they hate teachers :/

My parents also share very little in common with the values of The Mail, but read it weekly. It seems beguiling, but really it's because they're pleasant but fairly dull people who are too smart for a tabloid but not engaged or arsed about anything enough for a broadsheet.

As the spawn of readers of The Express, I know how you feel.

Yep, working class. From Liverpool. Read right wing tabloid. Go figure.

It's a state funeral in all but name.

The terminology might be off, but the point is valid and still stands.

That image might make a good point if Thatcher was actually getting a state funeral, which she isn't.

No, it's just a heavily taxpayer funded event that the Queen will be attending.

The Daily Mail will be driving to Dundee in bare feet stuffing it's face with Toblerone by the time her funeral comes.

When everybody has calmed down a bit and stopped cracking open the champagne and letting off the party poppers I hope the people who were the most crass, undignified and disgustingly offensive in their public and vocal displays of glee at the death of an old lady realise they have forfeited forever their right to appoint themselves judge and jury on anybody or anything. They have no moral authority to tell anyone ever again how they should conduct themselves and no more can they go around self righteously telling the rest of society what does and doesn't constitute acceptable and politically correct behaviour. It just won't wash anymore I'm afraid, you blew it all in a single day.

Why should it matter how old she was? Becoming old and sick does not excuse her of the immeasurable harm she caused.

She caused a great deal of harm to many people, and those people have every right to show how they feel about her.

And you, who said all benefit receivers are would-be child killers, certainly can't take the moral high ground either.

Who blew it in a single day? Do you mean liberals, or the working class? Or someone else, or both?

I did not personally celebrate the death of Thatcher, and I don't take any joy in a demented elderly lady. Not so much her death, but Blaze and others were out of place to suggest it was a fitting punishment that she was so mentally ill in her frail years that she was convinced her husband was alive. She got her just desserts when she was pushed out of her own party, the only thing that mattered to her. She lacked the awareness in her later life to take anything on the chin.

Thatcher earned a great amount of money and power from choosing leadership. The price of that is that you become a figurehead for your own beliefs, and arguably, people are celebrating the death of her beliefs and her legacy. They're wrong of course, because Thatcherism is currently doing the same once over on similar ill-regarded sectors of society and even more beyond. There's no economy being saved in the process either. So whilst I'm uncomfortable with much of the bile, I understand where it stems from and what it represents.

It'd be nice if society could view things more objectively and show some respect for Lady T, but as Russell Brand of all people has recently pointed out, don't expect people to act like there's a society if you keep telling them there's no such thing.

Just for future reference, at what age does a person's actions/achievements in life get wiped clean?

More lies.

With the taxpayer heavily funding her funeral (following half a million in benefits) can we cremate that "problem with socialism" quote while we're at it?
