The I Feel Down Topic.

Some incredibility sensitive and personal information about a recent haven't have been made public. Its not that I'm ashamed, its just something I would rather forget. And worse it has become gossip of all things, something so heavy and terrifying has become casual chitter chatter. And worse, it has lead to abuse, normally judging remarks here and there, but one person, one disgusting little human had the audacity to say this, "Want to hear a joke? What's read dead and down the toilet? Your children". In light of everything this spiteful bile has really really hammered home, and worst thing is I cant do anything about it. Sometimes its really difficult to like people. Christ I need a hug.

Sorry about the lack of structure, I just kind of vomited the information onto the page.
 
I'm sorry to say that I haven't been 'myself' recently.

I've grandly spiralled downwards into a lethargic, miserable stupor and I have been far more of a social recluse and far more of an introvert than most people possibly see me as being in the last few weeks. Well, that is if anybody's noticed the lack of me on social media and the like.

I hate to publicly admit I have problems too, because I keep to myself and a few very close others, hence it's tough for me to discuss what is wrong and a tougher challenge to even post in here. It's a step forward, I guess, but I may regret the decision later because I feel I'm being a vague hypocrite (and I HATE being vague).

Just, urgh :( *hides back under the duvet*

Hey remember me, I came here and opened with a "ways to be positive" thread, a few months later I find myself extremely grateful for this place!

Circumstances change, as do our opinions, we're only hypocrites when we preach one ideal whilst doing something totally different. As for vague, it seems the only person here who will take issue with that is yourself. It's entirely up to yourself to divulge as little or as much as you wish.

It's just nice sometimes to know you aren't on your own feeling crap.
 
Lets have a show of hands ...

Who thinks it's right to chase someone with a hard tennis ball making sharp movements with your arms as though you are about to throw it at the back of their head? Let's factor in that the person you're chasing has glasses, braces, enamel problems, and a wide skull parting that gives him daily headaches is therefore very caring for the rest of his head, and is visibly traumatised, crying their eyes out as they run.

Anyone?
 
There are two bits that link together that worry me.

So this person was threatening to throw a hard ball at the head of a lad with a gap in skull?

....is visibly traumatised, crying their eyes out as they run.

In that situation he lad has ever right, if the ball hit the wrong part of his head it could damage his brain or even worse kill him.

I don't know where you saw this dangerous happening. however it really must not be done again, if it go wrong someone could be up for manslaughter.
 
Trying to be positive. Critical fail. Feel utterly awful. Solutions aren't working well either :(

Your reaction has cheered me up immensely :) made me laugh. Why?

It was me being chased! And yes, you read the situation correctly, although I'm not sure whether the skull problems were his insentive, but yes otherwise it was him chasing me.

I reported him to my form tutor (who is really nice to us but really strict on others). At lunch they interviewed him and me, and as far as I know, he got away with it.

My school parades the fact they have no bullying ...

Bullies get away with everything.
Bullying will always exist and there's nothing you can do about it. Instead of teaching kids how to deal with it, they're just being victimised more.
If you ask a lot of people they'll say that the way they got through it was by fighting back. None of this "Tell an adult for them to deal with it, ignore them and they'll grow bored of it." Will they heck.
I am in no way suggesting that you should throw a fist straight into their nose, but instead find other alternatives if nothing is being sorted.

A lot of them do, and let's be honest, it's a f**king joke (10 years on, I'm STILL bitter about one of my least favourite teachers being commended for her pastoral care and success as a year tutor, THEN landing the job for another year when she did more harm than good where I was concerned...) Point it out to a teacher, or OFSTED inspector if you're feeling particularly brave, but don't expect it to go down well.

...I've just realised that one of the many teachers who posts on here is now going to jump down my throat for this :p
The useless advice my Mum used to give me is 'Smile at them; it's so much harder to be mean to someone who's being pleasant to you' - but I was never sure how much truth there is in that. All I can say is make your reactions as dull as possible, don't do anything to make yourself a target (I know, I know - it's impossible, kids will pick on literally anything - if I got a show of hands on here of those who were picked on for something as daft as liking rollercoasters, I reckon there'd be a lot!) and just avoid those situations like the plague.
Otherwise, all I can do is say - it's happened to probably ALL of us at some point or another, and whatever authority figures may claim, it's part and parcel of being at school when your face doesn't fit for whatever reason. It doesn't last forever :)
 
People are so disgusting. Told to "go and get cancer" and " no one wants you around". This is getting a bit sickening now.

Yeah... sometimes people go too far. Creative insults are still better - the time someone told me 'Most people have birth certificates. All your parents got was a letter of apology from Durex' still has me in hysterics now, while some of my schoolfriends would still giggle knowingly if I said 'I'm going to rip your spine out and feed it to my dog'.

I eventually threw a brick at the head of one of my many bullies. Not that I'd ever suggest anyone does this of course. But that perticular person never bothered me again...

Of course, there were still plenty of other morons on my council estate to worry about.
 
I managed to stop the bullying by the bullying. A rumour came around that I was satanic. So I bought a satanic bible and a couple 666 shirts for a laugh.

I once smashed a glass bottle (J20 one if you want to know) over a bullies head when I was pinned against a fence. Obviously not recommended, but it did the job to get them off my back!

I'm happy to say it is the one single time in my life I've ever been violent. I stay away from any violence normally. :p

I found the way to stop bullying was to get the headteacher involved. That was the only time action was taken when I was in high school (saying that, we had a good headteacher at the time, some of them are useless these days).
 
The flatmate mentality of 'It's really unfair that I make a disproportionate amount of the mess, yet not everyone cleans up as much as me'.

Must we really argue over why other flatmates and I should not be cleaning up your dirty plates from the floor?
 
OK, first time posting in a thread like this as a newbie, so here we go :)

So I go to a specialised stop-school for kids who have a very hard time with mainstream (like me) and have mental disabilities (like me)

So what has this got to do with anything?! well, the classes are small and have about 5-7 kids in one class, BUT, my class has 5 people in and has one heavily mentally disabled (I don't have a problem with his particular disability, I am good friends with people like him! but you will see where he comes in later) and every lesson he will start moaning to teachers, saying that he "can't do the work" or "he's too tired" and basically gets the support teacher to do all this for him! (if there is no support teacher, the normal teacher will focus solely on him) You are probably thinking "well that isn't too bad! it's only his disability!" but the thing is when I was diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome, I learned quite a lot about different mental illnesses! I have (as I said) got experience with people of his disability while I was at a mainstream school!

Added to this, he can tell that he annoys me! you can say thats just me, but when all your classmates pointed out that he is now basically mentally abusing me, and ME only, it kinda makes you wonder what the hell are the school doing! (and, he is a year below me! he is not even supposed to be in my class, and we are now doing work that is 4A when I used to be doing 7-8 in some subjects WTF! yes that is because of him ;))

Now you are thinking "well, how can he be mentally abusing you?" I'll tell you how, when he speaks, he will first stare at me, start talking loudly, lowering and raising his pitch and constantly making high pitched sounds! you can say "how do you know thats not part of his disability?" because of the fact that his disability is being 5 mental years old!!! not anything else, and that is actually after asking most of the staff if there is anything else!!!

WHY ME?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! WHY PICK ON ME?!?!?!?!?!?!

And before you say "get your parents involved" they have been FOR THE PAST YEAR! NOTHING HAS CHANGED (hmmm, this is a rant apparently) the teachers are still doing the work FOR HIM, they are letting him walk around the room as he makes the excuse that he 'needs to stretch' when he could sit through a 2 HOUR FILM AT THE END OF THE LAST SCHOOL YEAR! is it really THAT hard to tell him to sit down and be quiet! the only solution I have been given is 'to tell a member of staff' I CANNOT DO THAT! I CANNOT COMPLAIN ABOUT IT! THAT WAS ON A FORM WHEN I FIRST JOINED THAT PLACE THAT I CANNOT GO UP TO STAFF TO COMPLAIN!

You have not wasted our time. I am not angry against you. I have a disabled daughter, so I can see it from inside.

I fully understand the bit about not being able to complain to staff. A very close mate of mine has Aspergers Syndrome. and he has the same problem.

The question is does the staring and change pitch really annoy you and do you react with a change of look on your face? as he could be doing it for reaction.
 
With everything I do I never show any emotion, unless it is something like a member of my family dying, and I do believe he looks for a reaction, but the closest he will get is me saying shut up under my breath :) and the staff to seem to think that he is perfect while I am just left to mental breakdowns!
