[The Smiler] Construction Updates and Ride Speculation

*ahem*

You will be able to take control of the ride cars and navigate your way around the track in as perfect a line as possible. Experience the intense thrills, twists and turns of the ride, with the opportunity to be rewarded with upgrade points to spend on a wide range of track upgrades.

Therefore, any screenshots of the track should be taken with a pinch of salt.

I'm guessing you have to play the entire game and unlock everything to get the full layout... or more then the full layout. It's a simple case of progression in design of video games, if it's just one level you repeat over and over again it gets boring. Have a progression system, in this case unlocking track upgrades, means that the game is played for longer, because the completionist in people will want it finished.

Doesn't it say the more you play the more track you get? I imagine you build up the ride gradually.

EDIT
Beaten to it.

I win. Now give me my track upgrades.
Wasn't it also mentioned you have to be on park to unlock upgrades ;)

So. Is this just a curved brake run, or could this finally be the arrival of some lift sections?

(From TowersStreet's latest facebook update.)

Following on from Dar's post (quick off the mark!) in the latest series of team members going to places just for the sake of photo updates, here's the latest Smiler track photos:

It's on a flat piece, so it'll be just before one of the lifts or at the end, just before the main brake run.

Right? RIGHT?

I got the slightly perverse thought then, that they'd altered the layout a little to include a vertical drop. Which would then have trim breaks on to stop you just before you go over the edge. Cough, oblivion.

However, just think that it will be the break run.

Would like to say thanks for todays photo update, considering the whether. Thanks for taking time out of your day :)

This is almost certainly the station- here's Takabisha to compare:

This is a break, again, see other Eurofighters to compare:

(Although it looks like they haven't put the actual break fins in yet).

The fact that it's curved surely must mean it's on the crest of a hill, and could that possibly mean we have a launch?

I wouldn't say no, but until I see either:

or

it's not for certain.

The trim holder placing appears to be on a slightly curved section of track. I really hope this isn't a trim for the main course i.e. the drop or airtime hill. :-\

The first picture shows track section 44 - do we know enough about the ride to be able to roughly work out where this section could be going? I know there was discussion about the numbers a while ago, but I can't remember what sections were there at the time.

During the circular video on The Smiler site, it shows the numbers 53173, which then rotate to show the word 'SMILE'.

Any idea if this means anything? Or am I just too excited now and so wanting to make sense out of absolute nonsense?!

I'd like to think that added together it gives the total number of inversions, but I think that 19 is asking for a few too many!! :-\

I think you may be looking too far into things.....
