Re: Secret Weapon 7 Discussion Continued
These 2 were also in there.
I take it this is also to do with the station? It looks the right sort of 'distressed' to be in the station.. On the inside, for inside themeing maybe?
Images removed at the request of the original owner. The team have reinserted TowersStreet images of the same features of the ride.
And is this station track??

Actually, these look more like expanding sections which would go into a crane or something.....?

Well they are labled MBRACE, or M-brace. So I would think they are something used to brace a structure while it is being built, that takes on an "M" shape when it unfolds.
EDIT: Great minds state the obvious alike

Some research - MABEY is a company that makes struts for reinforcing a structure.
The part is called a MULTIBRACE as shown here:
http://www.mabeyhire.co.uk/groundworks/excavation-bracing-systems/multibrace/
They also look used - I think these were the struts used to support the edges around the excavation as they were digging down - similar to the sort of thing used when they were digging the Oblivion hole. Maybe check past photos to see if we can spot them?

Ooooh 'ello! Guess I do remember my log in details!
Anyway, I went for a nice little ramble earlier today and happened upon these photo's!
So, far from the site, it's clear not much track (if any) has gone up since the official picture from Towers back in December -
Lets get a bit closer...
If there is any other track in situ, it's not visible from here.
Submission seems to be getting a good overhaul! It has no arms!
Good news though, the station steel seems to be going up well -
Finally, over in the car parks, it seems that a lot more concrete slabs have been delivered -
The track that is in the car parks doesn't seem to have changed, however here is a lovely brake section for you!
Please don't post my photo's anywhere without my permission, however the TST Team are free to use them for the site
Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and just incase, Happy Easter!

Thanks for the pictures! Always great that someone gives up their spare time to keep the community occupied!
From a construction sense it makes sense to put the station up early. Soon as a roof is on they can start a lot of the internal work such as station platforms, access routes, lighting etc.

Wow, thanks for the pictures, it seams to me and what i have been told is that the station was being put up over Christmas and the track was going to be put up in the next few days. This is because Gerstlauer have gone back home and they have insisted on waiting for them to b there to put the track up. Over the next few weeks we will be seeing some major improvements on the site and things happening around there ( i will be going up to towers next saturday for 2 days so ill try and get a few images myself to see the change ) Thanks again for the images !

Just to add to this, the braces are likely to be used around the toilet block, as there will be a lot of ground movement up there when more land is dug out and the track is put in place in that part of the site. The braces will most likely be used to avoid any damage to the toilet block foundations. As the braces can be used for supporting foundations and buildings as well as supporting the ground during excavation.

Ooooohh.. that's interesting Mark00us, that explains why there is less track than expected by some people... It also shows that it will be ready on time

Ah thanks, that makes perfect sense if true. It explains why basically no track has gone up since the last official update, why no track was going up today, why the Gerstlauer car was nowhere to be seem for the first time in ages and why the Gerstlauer site office was closed today!
