Re: [The Smiler] Construction Updates and Ride Speculation Part 2
Time for my penultimate Smiler photo update, sad times!
Enjoy!
We start with seeing a train on the first lift, unfortunately it did not move from there all day:
Flaps have been added to the doorways:
More flaps on the other doorways:
New steps leading from the station:
And new yellow steps inside the station:
Here you can see that another camera has been added for the ORP. Also notice that the queue line shop has been decorated, it looks much better now:
Another look at the kiosk:
More queue fencing waiting to go in:
The entrance to The Smiler:
It looks like the yellow circles may light up, and the small circular fixings towards the top and bottom appear to be LED lights:
Looking through the entrance:
Another part of a train on the track:
The new paving is complete:
Soil has also been placed around the edge of the site, making it look a lot better. I assume this is ready for some planting:
The Staffordshire Knot is such a good looking element:
Another half of a train being lifted onto the track:
The Smiler:
Me trying to be a bit arty:
Speakers have been added to the inside of the Marmaliser legs:
A nice overview of the Marmaliser, yes that is Oblivion on the screen:
It then started to chuck it down, this really shows how much of a box the entrance looks:
Busy day in X-Sector:
Another overview shot:
The lights of The Flasher were on:
A lovely day for lift evac training:
Challenge The Smiler now has shutters:
And behind the shutters:
Shutters have also been put on the entrances to the shop:
A look up the new paving:
Yeah, I still don't like the entrance:
These are the cameras on the top of the games stall, they need these at the entrance:
A bit more work is needed here by the looks of it:
Cameras have now been added to the first lift:
Yellow markings on the floor:
This has been placed at the base of the centre column of the Maramaliser, I would like to see it receive more theming like in the concept:
Finally, here are a few photos showing some stills from the new video(s) on the Marmaliser screen:
Yes, this is Spinball:
And yep, Rita:
Unfortunately the loop was too long to get it all on film. However, when counting through the inversions, there were images of a bat, a cobra and a Staffordshire Knot. Maybe Towers have picked up on our name for that part of the ride?
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed! As usual, all photos were taken from areas of the park fully accessible to the public. Please do not replicate my photos without permission. TowersStreet may use them if they wish.
