Thorpe Park: General Discussion

Do any rides close in thundery showers?
Will Friday's weather forecast put visitors off?
Thundery shows from 8 to 4 then light rain 5 to midnight.
 
But having said that, they didn't shut anything down earlier this year when a massive storm blew in from the east. (Not beast from east, was a massive thunder and rainstorm on the annual pass evening towards the end).
 
Unfortunately their has been a power cut at Thorpe today! I am planning on going tomorrow so if anyone has been to the Love Island lates event planned today, let me know what it's like!
 
Oh dear! What a blow for Thorpe's first Love Island Late of the year! Hopefully they get it sorted soon!

Feel sorry for Thorpe Today - 2 Power cuts out of their control and the clueless public begin too complain!

It didn't just affect Thorpe- other businesses in gne surrounding area were hit too.

That specifically is true. Rides are very power hungry machines and starting them all all together would cause switches to trip. We had to stagger ride start-ups over atleast 10 mins at Drayton Manor for this very reason.

Specifically and categorically at Drayton the rapids have to be started on their own, pump by pump until 3 pumps were running. All other rapids do this too as the pumps are very power hungry. As to not overload the system and cause power cuts.
 
I highly presume that no one got stuck on top of Stealth, as that is an incredibly rare occurrence, but it wouldn't be impossible given the right conditions, as Kanonen at Liseberg has apparently gotten stuck at the top before!

Kanonen was a completely different ride latout though (i think it was a "spaghetti-bowl" layout).
